Important sentences:Make sure the floor is not slippery. Follow instructions for all electrical appliances. Unplug all appliances, especially irons, after use.,(1) Target Language,(2) Ability goals Enable Ss to write a letter to ask their principle to organize a first aid course at school through text and extra knowledge.,Language Skill Students learn to give opinions and make comments.,(3) Learning ability goals,Help the students know how to write a letter.,II. Let Ss build up their independent learning abilities and cooperative learning abilities.,To guide Ss to search for information efficiently. At the same time, pay more attention to some measures of first aid. b. Ss should catch the importance of first aid by reading some articles and glancing over some websites.,c. I will give my students some advice. For example, study on the Internet, send e-mails between classmates or put their compositons on the BBS. In this way, they can communicate with each other and put forward advantages and disadvantages of their compositions. d. After finishing writing, my Ss can keep in touch with me. Do a first aid quiz.,Aim: this part is to help Ss collect information and generate ideas for the writing task.,Task 1 Lead-in What words can you think of when you talk about accidents and first aid?,Accident First aid,drown,bleed,choke,burn/catch fire,cut,a bloody nose,a snake bite,sprained ankle,a broken arm,First aid instruction:,Sit him down and put some ice on his ankle to reduce the swelling. Put his foot up on a chair. Then bandage his ankle up firmly.,Sprained ankle,Look at the following pictures, describing what happens and then give your partner first aid instructions for each situation.,Task 2 Discussion,First aid instruction:,If he cant cough, bend him forwards.
