摘要 女性主义者普遍认为母女关系对女性的成长影响最大，因此母女关系以及 为母之道是女性主义理论化的中心课题之一，评论家就母系文学这一特殊的文 学体裁不断展开研究。喜福会是一部美国华裔母系文学的代表作品，在此书 中作者谭恩美赋予母女以中心地位，扭转了华裔女性被边缘化的局面。本文采 用阿德里安娜里奇和黑人女性主义者帕特里夏希尔科林斯的相关理论， 分析心理因素和文化因素对母女关系的影响，并且分析了小说中叙事技巧如何 与主题相辅相成。同时，本文指出东方主义情结是喜福会在主流社会广受 欢迎的一个重要原因，小说中所塑造的中国母亲形象仍然在很大程度上迎合了 美国读者的模式化套路，这可以说是该小说的局限性所在。目前我国对美国华 裔文学的研究尚处于起步阶段，本文旨在对华裔妇女文学作品进行解读，探讨 华裔妇女文学在母女关系主题表现上的独特角度。 本文由五部分组成。绪论中，对美国华裔母系文学进行介绍，提出本文的 研究主题和研究方法。第一章从心理和文化角度分析喜福会中的母女冲突 与和解，探讨女j i a f 对母亲疏远的多重原因，以及后来在对母亲的重新认同过 程中汲取的精神力量。第二章探讨小说独特的四角形叙事结构，以及贯穿全书 的圆形结构，分析其对主题发展的烘托作用，并且说明小说起始与关键情节中 所表现出的丰富的女性意识。第三章解读喜福会中的东方主义情结，证明 东西方的二元对立思维导致了对华裔妇女的边缘化表现。结语部分指出，虽然 喜福会有其局限性，谭恩美仍然对美国华裔母系话语传统的建立做出了重 要贡献。 关键词：喜福会华裔女性叙事技巧东方主义 a b s t r a c t i ne x p l o r a t i o no ft h er e l a t i o n s h i pb e t w e e nc h i n e s ei m m i g r a n tm o t h e r sa n dt h e i r a m e r i c a n -
