哲伦将美国戏剧发展推向了一个新的高潮。尽管近年来越来越多的研究者开始着 眼于黄哲伦作品的研究与讨论，但对其戏剧作品中所体现的华裔中国性却依然无 人问起。因此，本文旨在系统地分析蝴蝶君、金童、寻找中国城中华裔 中国性的重建与表现，从而进步完善黄哲伦戏剧研究与美国族裔文学特点研 究。在第一章黄哲伦戏剧研究综述后，本文将就现有族裔研究理论及美国华裔中 国性研究现状进行理论分析与综述，因此，第二章论述了后殖民视野下的族裔散 居理论、华裔中国性的发展与黄哲伦剧作中的中国性重建。第三章至第五章分别 详细阐述中国性在蝴蝶君、金童、寻找中国城中的重建与表现方式。首 先，本文通过分析蝴蝶君中三组对立关系的设置，鲜明地体现了华裔中国性 的斗争性与独立性。其次，通过分析金童中的意识融合与矛盾，反应出华裔 中国性的双重模糊性意识与个体归属重置性。最后，通过寻找中国城中的人 物设置与互转分析，总结出华裔中国性的流动性特征。因此，黄哲伦剧作中的华 裔中国性是以美国华裔情节与意识为基础的、多族融合的意识产物。黄哲伦蝴 蝶君、金童与寻找中国城中的中国性重建是后殖民文化研究角度下的中 国性分析，该分析不但会导向华裔中国性的重新定位，并将进一步推进美国华裔 戏剧的特色发展，促进国际形式下族裔散居文学的重新定位。
