内容摘要 可译性与不可译性一直是翻译研究领域中一个长期争论不休的 理论问题。 对于可译还是不可译或在多大程度上可译这一问题目前还 存在着诸多分歧， 有 “ 可译性” 、 “ 绝对不可译性” 、 “ 相对不可译性” 、 “ 语言的不可译性” 和 “ 文化的不可译性” 等说法。 作为翻译工作者， 对翻译的可译性问题有个清楚的认识有利于指导其翻译实践， 因此对 翻译的可译性问题进行探讨有着实践意义。 本文作者从辩证的角度出发， 赞成相对可译性的观点，以语言学 中的符号学理论为依托， 从语言和文化的角度通过大量的例证探讨可 译性的理论依据并着重探讨不可译性的理论依据， 从而证明翻译活动 是可能的但在翻译实践中又不可避免地存在一些限度这一客观事实。 本文正文共由三章组成。 第一章对文本可译性问题进行了历史性回顾， 介绍了长期以来翻 译界对可译性问题的一些主要的不同认识和观点。 第二章分析可译性及其理论依据。 本章着重从认知符号的同一性 及语义系统的同构原则、 思维方式的同一性、 语法差异的规律性和文 化渗透这四个方面阐述翻译是可能的，即可译性是肯定存在的。 第三章论述可译性的限度及其理论依据口 本章首先指出第二章所 提出的同构具有相对性， 这就导致了可译性存在限度问题; 其次从语 言符号的行为模式入手， 阐述可译性限度存在的可能性; 最后列举语 际转换中的各种障碍，即从语言结构、惯用法、表达法、 语义表述和 文化等五个方面指出了翻译实践中的可译性限度现象。 本文旨在通过系统而全面的论述， 结合理论和实践， 对可译性及 其限度问题做出正确判断， 以期对翻译工作者的实践活动产生借鉴作 用。 关键词:可译性可译性限度理论依据相对性 ab s t r a c t t h e p r o b l e m o f t r a n s l a t a
