西南交通大学硕士研究生学位论文 第1 页 摘要 称呼语是语言的一个重要内容，是社会语言学和语用学研究的一个重 要课题。每种语言都有它自己特定的称呼语，这些称呼语与其相应的文化背 景息息相关因而称呼语可以揭示语言与社会及文化的密切关系。而社会因 素和文化价值观也深深地影响着人们对于称呼语的选择及运用。因此研究不 同文化和社会语境中的称呼语是极其必要的。 本研究是项基于言语行为，权势与对等和礼貌理论的跨文化对比研 究。它以三所大学校园里的1 2 0 个中国学生和5 2 个以英语为母语的留学生 作为受试对象，通过问卷调查两个学生群体对老师的称呼语的异同，以年龄j 性别、场合和级别作为社会变量进行数据统计，对比分析两种文化下不同社 会因素对称呼语的选择的不同影响。 通过对数据的统计分析，结合定性讨论，得到如下发现：代表英汉文化 的两个学生群体的称呼语存在着异同；影响各自称呼语选择的社会因素也各 不相同，以礼仪和权势为特征的中国文化价值观与以个人主义和平等为标志 的美国文化价值观造成这些差异。 本研究首次对英汉语言中的学生群体对老师的称呼语作具体调查分析， 进一步论证了社会和文化因素在语言的礼貌运用中的重要影响及作用。本研 究的发现有助于更有效进行跨文化交流，同时对英语教学和对外汉语教学有 教学启示和参考价值。
