中文摘要 “否定转移”( t r a n s f e r r e dn e g a t i o n ) 最早是由夸克等人提出的 ( ag r a m m a ro fc o n t e m p o r a r ye n g l i s h ，r q u i r ke ta t ，1 9 7 2 ) ， 它特指英语主从复合句中否定词n o t 从从旬谓语前移至主句谓语前 的这一特殊的语法现象。此后，国内外许多语言学家和学者( 章振邦， 1 9 9 6 ：h o r n ，1 9 7 8 ；徐盛桓，1 9 8 3 ；熊学亮，1 9 8 8 等) 也都给出了 相应的定义，对此特殊的句法现象进行了系统归纳和深入分析，并且 取得了丰硕的成果。但这些研究多从这个结构本身出发，把“否定转 移”视为一个句法现象或语言成品( 1 i n g u i s t i cp r o d u c t ) ，仅限于 否定转移的句法特征及其成因机制，对于否定转移这种标志性旬式的 最终实现并未做出系统的阐述。语法化研究认为语法不是静态的、封 闭的或自足的，而是动态的、发展的，与语言外部因素紧密相关的。 本文试图从一个新的视角，即语法化的角度，就否定转移的语义可行 性、语用必要性及其最终的实现途径做一些系统的、较深入的探讨。 并得出结论：否定转移的实现是语用现象语法化的结果。 语法化( g r a m m a t i c a l i z a t i o n ) 最初是由法国语言学家m e i l l e t ( 1 9 1 2 ) 提出来的。之后，2 0 世纪7 0 年代重新兴起的语法化研究把 重心从历时转向共时，打破了索绪尔以来结构主义语言学中历时研究 与共时研究长期分离的局面，实现了语言共时和历时研究的结合，解 决了一些理论界长期无法解决的问题。语法化现象受到了越来越多的 语言研究者的关注。 语法化研究的定位给语言研究提供了一个新视角，通过研究语法 形式的来源和固化问题，探讨语法得以建立的过程，了解语言是如何 获得语法的，从而认识语法的实质。所有语言学理论都是为了阐明人 类语言的语法实质。因此，对否定转移语法化的研究有助于对其语法 本质有更深刻的认识。 全文共分六章。第一章主要介绍语法化理论的定义，理论背景及 其发展。第二章主要阐述语法化理论的单向假设，基本原则及其机制： 重新分析和类比。第三章综述了国内外学者对否定转移的研究成果， 主要足它的句法特点以及否定转移在语义上的可行性。第四章足本文 的重点，集中讨论了否定转移的语用动机。本文认为否定转移与语言 的礼貌，尤其是面子理论存在着内在的联系。礼貌作为一种语用现象 就是要维护和增强和睦友好的人际关系，最小化言语交际中的冲突与 对抗。其核心就是要照顾对方的面子。礼貌的程度受两条原则的支配： 不要强加于人；给人以选择的机会。否定转移通过拉大否定词与所否 定的成分之间的距离从而减弱否定力。同时把作为述题的一部分的否 定词n o t 前移，从而造成了述题分离，降低了对从旬命题的肯定和由 否定引起的对立和对抗，最终实现其礼貌性。第五章也是本文的一个 重点，主要阐述了否定转移语法化实现的途径。否定转移语法化的实
