) 内容摘要 汉字发展大致可分为两个阶段，第一个阶段主要是以象形字为主导，第二阶段 主要以形声字为主导。象形字在汉字发展中扮演重要角色，它是汉字的基础，后期 汉字都是以象形字为基础通过不同的构字机制而创制出来的。 汉代学者许。t 真( 2 0 0 7 ) 提出从创制机制看，汉字大体可分为六种，即象形，指事， 会意，假借( 音借) ，转注和形声。这就是所谓的“六书”。其中形象字是其他五种 字的始基。形声字是汉字发展的最高阶段，是最为成熟的汉字。不光是因为汉字中 9 0 是形声字( 李孝定，1 9 8 6 ) ，并且，其他种类的汉字的创制机制都会在形声字的 拟构中发挥作用。所以，弄清楚了形声字的拟构机制也就意味着弄清楚了汉字的拟 构机制。 基于象形字的基础地位，对其研究尤为必要，因为形声字也无一例外地是以象 形字为构件( 偏旁) 而创制出来的。 许慎认为，就象形字所描摹的对象而言，是“近取诸身，远取诸物”。亦即人的 身体或身体的某部分，以及世界中的种种事物都是象形字的描摹对象。历代文字训 诂学家长久以来把这条原则当成不言自明的真理，以致逐渐形成一个教条，它宣称 追问这些“身”和“物”背后的意义为多余，并且还认可对这个问题的搁置。 洪堡特给友人的信中提到“汉字的形体中，自有哲学功夫在其中”( 关子尹，2 0 0 9 ) 。 本文通过对新华字典所录汉字调查发现，就那些被纳入象形字描摹对象范 围的“物”而言，是和人的生存紧密相关的物，是“为我之物”( t h i n g - f o r - u s ) ，而不 是和人了然无涉的“物自体”( t h i n g - i t s e l j ) 这从把这个象形字作为构字部件的使用频 率中得到了证实。越是和人的生存紧密相关的事物，其对应的象形字( 独体字) 作 内容摘要 n 种物质性的存在，而且更重要的是它一个关系节点。关系的一端是物本身，另一端 是人或者人的生存。“世界是人的生存方式的展开( 马克思) 。所以与其说是这些象 形字以及包含这些象形字并( 作为偏旁) 的汉字描摹的只是世界中的事物，不如说 是描述的是人的生存方式。 就象形字中所描摹身体及身体部分而言，由于要不断与外部世界互动和进行改 造来维持人的生存，人必须借助其身体和身体某部分来实现这种互动从而使生存成 为可能。人只能从这种互动中获得经验。由于象形文字的特点是要有物可象，另一 方面动作或者事件又无法描摹，于是汉字就巧妙地转喻性地把参与该动作，事件中 的身体和身体某部分等可以描摹的对象用来作为一个参照点，为那些和其共处于同 一理想认知模型内的抽象的不可描摹的动作，事件的提供一个心理可及性。于是词 汇( 通常是记录人与世界互动经验) 就转喻性地将表示参与这种互动的人的身体或 者是身体部分的象形字作为该词汇的构件之一纳入词汇的拟构。这也就解释了为什 么含有表示身体某部分的象形字( 此时作为偏旁) 数量如此之众的原因。总之，形 象字的拟构其实是体现了认知语言学的“具身性和“身体经验”两个原则。 就具体描摹机制而言，象形字是“依类象形，随体诘诎”。这个过程中，象似性 存在于符号和被描摹的对象之间。象形字从这个意义上而言，不是图画，而是拟象 符( d i a g r a m m a t i ci c o n s ) 。 汉字发展最成熟的文字是形声字，它通常由形符和声符组成。并且，从形声字 的发展过程来看，在很多情况下，声符不光是单纯的语音标示符，声符还是有意义 的。声符的意义还是该形声字意义的主体部分，形符是为了突出某一部分声符的意 义而后添加上去的。本文依据形声字各部分意义对整体意义的语义贡献把形声字分
