内容摘要 语言是文化的载体，作为文化载体的词汇在语言中扮演重要的角色。不同 的社会背景和不同的民族文化对词汇的含义有很大的影响。动物是人类的朋 友，包括英语和汉语在内的所有语言中都有很多表示动物的词汇。 随着人类社会的进步，很多动物成为人类的朋友，为人类服务，也有很多 动物还成为人们的宠物。可见，动物已经成为人们生活的一部分。随着科学的 发展，人们所了解的动物种类越来越多。在全球各地的许多城市都有供游人游 玩的动物园；成千上万关于动物的书籍比比皆是，一些把动物拟人化的神话故 事是孩子们特别喜爱的书籍之一；几乎每家电视台都在一些频道开设有关动物 的节目。动物词汇也在这些过程中渐渐形成特定的涵义，也就是说人们把他们 的一些情感，甚至是发生的事件，自然现象都和动物联系起来，认为动物能够 表现不同人的个性，或者是表示某些征兆。许多动物已经在人们的思维中形成 某种象征，并体现在语言中。类似“像狐狸一样狡猾f a sc u n n i n ga saf o x ) ”的 词语出现在许多语言当中。然而，由于不同的历史和文化，不同的人生观，以 及不同文化的审美观，动物词汇的内涵意义会因为语言的不同而不同。 为了对英汉语言中动物词汇文化内涵之间的差异进行客观的分析，本文采 用了对比分析的方法。从实证调研出发，通过自行设计的测试题以及问卷调查 的结果进行统计分析，力求探讨通过将文化教学引入词汇教学之中的必要性。 为了让论述更加具有说服力，作者在湖北财经高等专科学校非英语专业的6 3 名学生中，进行了英汉动物词汇文化内涵的测试以及问卷调查。通过对试验数 据进行相关分析和单元方差分析，笔者发现：1 ) 采用传统教学方法的第一组 学生和进行文化导入教学方法的第二组和第三组学生，在理解动物词汇文化内 涵方面存在着很大的差异；2 ) 在同一动物词汇含有同一文化内涵的理解方面， 三组之间存在的差异相对较小；在同一动物词汇含有不同文化内涵的理解方 面，三组之间存在的差异非常大；对于同一动物词汇在英汉两种语言中没有相 关对应词的理解方面，三组之间同样存在差异；对于不同动物词汇含有相同文 化内涵的理解方面，三组之间也有着较大的差异。 硕士学位论文 m a s t e r st h e s i s 此外，本文还通过对调查问卷各题的结果进行了具体分析，发现：( 1 ) 绝 大部分学生认为动物词汇文化内涵的教学很有必要：能提高学习英语的兴趣： 有助于了解西方动物词汇的文化内涵；能促进英语水平的提高。( 2 ) 大部分学 生认为通过词汇内涵教学，可以使英语变得活起来，并加强了学生学习英语的 信心。
