Unit 9 Communication Lesson 54 How Embarrassing! 教材分析1. Analysis of the Students The students of Grade 9 have mastered certain vocabularies,expressions and structures. They also have the abilities of self-teaching and working in groups. Most of them are willing to express their opinions in English.2. Analysis of Teaching ContentLesson 54 is the sixth lesson in Unit 9, Book 5.This unit focus on the subject Communication, Students cares about the subject because it is close to everyone. Lesson 54 mainly talks about the boys experience what an embarrassing moment at a bookstore. At last, two boys are happy and made plans to play ping-pong together. Communicate is important. 教学目标【知识目标】1. To learn adjectives like V+ing, V+ed e.g. embarrassing / embarrassed .2. To master the phrases: run into,return to,hear from, make plans,remind of.【能力目标】Improve the students ability of speaking, listening, reading and writing. To learn about talking ones experience.【情感目标】To realize talking about problems is better than keeping them as secrets. Communicate is important.【教学重点】To master the words and phrases.【教学难点】To realize talking about problems is better than keeping them as secrets. Improve students communication. 课前准备 Tape recorder, Multimedia 教学过程Step 1. Warm-up1. Show a picture of embarrassing.2. Free talk: Have you ever embarrassing?Step 2. Presentation1. Explain the words according to the pictures.2. Show the picture of the boy, and ask students what about the boy to elicit the lesson.3. Read and answer the questions.(1) Who did Li Ming run into?(2) Was Gao Yuan happy to hear from Li Ming?4. Check the answers.5. Explain the language points:run into在本句中的意思是“偶然遇见”。还有“流入;撞在上”的意思。e.g. The river runs into the sea. 那条河流入大海。 My brother ran a knife into the parcel. 我弟弟往包裹上刺入了一把小刀。 The driver ran his car into a tree. 那位司机把车撞在了一棵树上。用tap, pat, hit, pull, take等词表达拍、打、拉、抓住身体部位时,要搭配不同的词,但表示身体部位的词前都要用定冠词the,而不用形容词性物主代词。e.g. He patted / tapped the boy on the head. 他拍拍男孩的头。 Dont hit me in the face. 别打我的脸。 Pull him by the arm. 拉他的胳膊。remind sb. of sth. 意思是“提醒某人某事”,它还有“使发生联想”的意思e.g. I reminded him of his grandmothers birthday. 我提醒他他奶奶的生日。 Her smile reminds me of the way her grandmother smiled. 她的笑容使我想起过去她奶奶也是这样笑的。remind sb. about / of sth.意为“提醒某人某事”。e.g. I rang to remind him about / of the meeting. 我打电话提醒他关于这个会议。remind sb. to do sth. 意思是“提醒某人做某事”。e.g. Remind the students to turn off the lights after school. 提醒学生放学后关灯。remind sb. that .意为“提醒某人;使某人想起”。 e.g. You should remind your son that he must finish his homework every day. 你应该提醒你的儿子,他每天都必须完成作业。yay“好的,不错”,用来表达喜悦、赞成、鼓励等情绪。e.g. Yay, She finally got the diving world champion! 她终于获得了世界跳水冠军!get back在本句中的意思是“找回;取回;恢复”,可以用get back sth. 结构,也可以用 get sth. back结构。e.g. I got back my lost pen. (= I got my lost pen back.) 我找回了我丢失的钢笔。 Take a good rest and get back your strength. 好好休息,恢复体力。Step 3. Practice1. Listen and follow to the tape.2.
