All characters of Prison Break, best reveals the “The glory of human nature”, especially Theodore Bagwell.Theodore Bagwell, one of the main characters of Prison Break, acts as “A demon”. He is a demon, who slaughters people without blinking. But deeply at his heart, all he wants is the love and forgive from the woman he loves. He aspire to redemption and reborn, but the harsh reality break him to be a good man. He does anything to survive. Finally he winds up with the tragedy, which is arguably he deserved and why people often discuss him as the source of the tragedy. However, he has a powerful spirit of fighting, fighting against the society, the fate. All he did makes him seems to be a cruel killer, actually all he did was just to fight against the unfair of the destiny and to abundant his born with shame. Prison Break has won a great deal of reputation. Prison Break won the 2006 Peoples Choice Award for Favorite New TV Drama and was nominated for the 2005 Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series Drama. The development of this series is as follow:The origins of Prison Break began as a concept (a man deliberately getting himself sent to prison in order to break out again) that was suggested to Paul Scheuring by female colleague, Francette Kelley. Although Scheuring thought it was a good idea, he was initially stumped as to why someone would embark on such a mission or how he could develop it into a viable television show. He later came up with the story of the wrongfully accused brother, and the conspiracy subplot. He then started work writing the plot outline and devising the characters. In 2003, he pitched the idea to the Fox Broadcasting Company, but was turned down as Fox felt somewhat nervous about the long-term possibilities of such a series. He subsequently showed the concept to other channels with no luck. The show was later considered as a possible 10-part miniseries, which allegedly drew interest from big names in the film industry such as Steven Spielberg and Bruce Willis. However, the miniseries never materialized. Following the huge popularity of serialized prime time television series such as Lost and 24, the Fox Network had a change of heart and backed the production in 2004. 1 Prison Break combines the hope of The Shawshank Redemption, the camaraderie of The Longest Yard and the tense procedure and spectacle of The Great Escape. 2 The most vocal part of Prison Break is to expose the most dirty and ugliest political nakedly in the front of the world. This is like an endless nightmare, whether lofty, selfless, and brave or sacrifice. All seems so weak before the desire, greed, power and money. The power of human nature is too pale, like pieces, being droved on by the evil in the darkness, and being covered in the boundless huge fog, struggling, resisting and twisting, until vanishing.Prison Break shows us not only the prisoners inside the compound, but also a different kind of society; it shows us not only the leading role Michael Scofield, the Nirvana of the Phoenix, but also the prisoners, who grope in darkness. It shows us not the devoid of human nature, but the glory of human nature. The series wanted to expose the cruelty of the society by analyzing why Theodore Bagwell formed such characters and revealed the glory of human nature in the deformed society. This paper will analyze the reasons for Theodore Bagwell to form his special characters. Theodore “T-Bag” Bagwell is a fictional character from Prison Break. He is a part of the main group of characters in the series, plays an important role in the series. Bagwell is considered as one of the most villainous members of the Fox River and his character is the most complicated.There are plenty of vile, heartless thugs running around Prison Breaks Fox River State Penitentiary, but none comes close to skeeving us out like Theodore T-Bag Bagwell, the drawling white-trash racist whose do- or-die rivalry with fellow inmate John Abruzzi came to a shocking head last week. 3More and more people are interested in Theodore Bagwell. People hate Bagwell for his cruel and the bad things he done, but in the meantime, they all feel sympathize with him. A large amount of people start to study the root cause of his complicated characters. They have always focused on three aspects. Firstly, the complicated characters are caused by the social environment. Secondly, the complicated characters are caused by the loss of love. At last, the complicated characters are caused by fate.Plot SummaryIn the first season, Lincoln Burrows, who is accused of murdering Terrence Steadman, the brother of Vice President of the United States Caroline Reynolds, is sentenced to death and incarcerated in Fox River State Penitentiary. Lincolns younger brother, a brilliant structural architect Michael Scofield, whose brain is three times cleverer than the normal people, is convinced of Lincolns innocence, thought all evidence points to his guilt. The execution date is coming near. He has no choice but put himself into the same prison with Lincoln for armed robbery. As an architect, he has taken apart into the reconstruction project. He steals the map of Fox River, and tattoos it on his body. The only reason he put himself into the jail is to saving Lincoln and washing away his sins. He spent three months to formulate a prefect escape plan. After going through many obstacles, eight prisons escape in the season finale.In season two, after escaping, they stared the fugitive. In the process, they faced a variety of circumstances. They met the FBI agent Buck Mahone, who in charge of tracking down eight of them. Because Lincoln was framed with a government conspiracy, they start to investigate. They hope to expose the conspiracy behind the dark truth. They are not only facing the government to kill, but also tracing by a agent called Paul Kellerman. On the other hand, they are also looking at the stash money which Charles Wstmoreland hidden before he was put in prison. T-bag also know the secret and he got the 50 million dollars. Two of the eight escapees were killed, one was sent back to the prison. Michael and Lincoln was successfully escape to Panama. But in the season finale, Michael, T-bag, Mahone, and Belick were put in Sona prison on Panama. In season three, Lincoln has finally been cleared of murder. He can fairly go back to the United States of America. But Michael was put into Sona prison of panama. This time it becomes Lincoln save Michael. This season also appeared a scandalous plot, Sara was dead. By the meantime, there are some new roles appear. In the last season, in order to expose the Companys plot, they find Sylla. With the help of Michael and his companions, they break down Company. Finally, the general and T-bag was put into Miami-Dade prison. In addition, Sara was back. Actually, she did not be killed in season two. Sara and Michael get marry in the season finale.The Causes for Theodore Bagwell to Form His Special Characters4.1 The social environmentThe special social environment is the main cause of Theodore Bagwells characters and behaviors. The social environment is the prerequisite for the analysis of Theodore Bagwells characters. Bagwell is born in a special family. He is smart since he was a child and good at studying, but it does not change his life. Because he was different from other people, he was born after his father raped his mentally handicapped sister. He was molested by his father when he was a child. He faced discrimination all his childhood. Ever since he was young, Bagwell was constantly in and out of jail, often for vandalism and torturing animals. While in fourth grade, he attempted to set his teachers house on fire. Because of this, he was sentenced to juvenile hall. When he grows up, he starts committing more serious crimes, such as battery, assault, attempted murder, murder, rape and kidnapping. He is bisexual and also a pedophile. He was sentenced to the most heavily guarded prison in Donaldson by the government of Alabama states, because he committed serious crimes. During this time, he became the leader of the Alliance for Purity, a white supremacist group. Under his leadership, the gang becomes so powerful inside the prison that the warden disbands it and sends Bagwell to Fox River. The environment he lives warps his disposition. 4.2The love between Bagwell and SusanThe loss of love is also a cause of his characters. In season two, there is a review about the warm and sweet life of Bagwell before he was put into Fox River. Prior to incarceration, Bagwell eluded the authorities and pursued a relationship with a single mother named Susan Hollander, who had two children of her own from a previous marriage. When he met Susan, he find a renew life from the love of Susan and her two kids. In the sixteenth episode, his image surprises the audiences, well-groomed hair, clean shaving mustache, and he even wears a plaid shirt which representative family man. Susan said “Good morning teddy bear” to Bagwell every morning. He teaches the kids to do their homework, cooks for the three he loved every day. Its not hard to image how excited he was and how bright his life was at that time. But all these were broken when his warrant was showed on the TV. Especially when Susan called the police, it broke all of his hopes. At that time, he was despaired. So he said, “Dont think I wont remember what your front step look like?” This threat he said shows his cold, more exposure in his inner pain and despair. After he succeed escaped from the prison and got 50 million dollars, he found Susan, but not for revenge. He wants to use the money to build a new life with Susan and her kids. He forced them to move back to his old house with him. He tells Susan his story, because he wants she understand him. He even promises her “Those children are my salvation, my chance to make this world a better place. I will be good, Susan. I will love them. I will love you.” He was failed after he tried again and again. Finally, he gave up and called the police to save Susan and her kids from his house. When he dropped down his cell phone, the despaired look shows his heartbroken. It also shows his human nature, in the last moment he did not hurt Susan or her kids. He still loves them so much. He was lack of love until he met Susan. But when Susan left him, he lost the love again. He is simply hungry for affection, but he does not gain any love from any one. He is lonely and despairs, so he is afraid to be sent back to the prison. In order not to be arrest by the police, he tried every effect to avoid them even cut off his broken hand again. He would rather lose a hand than be sent back to jail. It shows his strong will to gain freedom. 4.3The fateThe unfair fate is another cause of his complicated characters. His birth is meant to be a tragic. He was born with shame and guilty. He was looked down upon all his life, even in the prison where everyone is guilty. He is always inferior to others.The destiny makes him great cunning, he tries all ways to survive. When he found out the escape plan of Michael, he made all effects to join the group and made sure not to be left. He killed one of the prison guards, because he found out their plan. He would use all ways to weed out all those who might stand in his way. On the process of escape, he was cut one hand by John Abruzzi. This is considered as what he desired. Because when he was in jail, he didnt believe Johns conciliation and slit his throat with a knife. The fate creates such a demon, but there are still some human natures in his heart. The first time he shows his human nature is when he felt disappointed for Susan, he did not kill she and her kids. Instead, he called the police to save them. The second time is when he held Gretchens sister and her daughter hostage, a priest showed up. Bagwell thought he was one of the members of the Company. He tied him up and managed to kill him. At last, he released them. However, the fate was not just let him go. The priest he released is really one of the members of the Company, and he caught Bagwell. But his is meant to have an unfair life. Several times when he wants to change, when he wants to be a good husband, father, when he wants to have a normal life, the fact turn him down. Deep in his heart, he wants to be a common person who has a good job, a sweet family, a lover, and some children. But the destiny just makes him to be lonely, despaired. His behavior is not only attributed to the environment he grew up in, but also the fate. ConclusionThe complica
