Could you please take out the rubbish? Sure. / Sorry, I cant. I have to finish homework first.2. Could I use your computer?Sorry. Im going to work on it now.3. Well, could I watch TV?Yes, you can. But first you have to clean your room.Difficult Points:Make polite requests ; Ask for permissionTeaching Aids:PPT; Tape recorderTeaching Procedures:Step 1 Warming-up Ask the Ss , “What did you do last weekend? Did you do any housework at home? What housework do you often do at home?” List some on the blackboard.Step 2 Presentation(1a)1. Show the photos on PPT and talk about them “What does he do every day? and learn these phrases: do chores, do the dishes, make the bed, take out the rubbish, fold the clothes, do the laundry, clean the living room.2. Look at these phrases and practice the conversation: Could you please take out the rubbish? Sure. / Sorry, I cant. I have to finish homework first.3. Work on 1a .Do you do these chores at home? Have the Ss discuss them with the partner. Give them help if they have difficulties . Step 3 Listening(1b)1b Listen. Who will do these chores? Check () Peters mother or Peter.First go through the phrases in the chart, then play the recorder for the Ss to listen and check .Play the recorder again, the Ss listen and check the answers.Step 4 Practice(1c)1c Make conversations about the chores in 1a.First the teacher makes the conversation in 1c with a student as an example.Then have the students work in pairs to make conversations about the chores in 1a Step 5 Listening and practice (2a,2b&2c)2a T: Peter asks his father if he can do four things. What does his father say? Lets listen and check () “yes” or “no”. Go through the sentences in the chart, make sure the Ss know what they should do. Then play the recorder for the Ss to listen and check. Play the recorder again for the Ss to listen and check the answers:1 yes 2 yes 3 no 4 no.2b T: Why does Peters father say “no”? Lets listen again and draw lines to the reasons in the chart.Listen again. Ss draw lines to the reasons. Then check the answers.2c First get the Ss to practice the conversation in 2c.Then have them make conversations after it using the information in 2a and 2c in groups.Step 6 Role playing(2d)First play the tape of the conversation, the Ss listen and answer the question: What does Sister ask Brother to do? (To take out the rubbish, fold the clothes and do the dishes)After that, go through the conversation with the class. See if they have any difficulties, if any, help them. Then the Ss listen to the tape of the conversation and repeat. And then ask the Ss to role-play it in pairs. Finally, ask some pairs to role-play the conversation before class.Step7 Summary 1. New words and expressionsdo the dishes, sweep the floor, take out the trash, make the bed, fold the clothes, clean the room2. -Could you please?-Yes, please. / Sorry, I cant.Step 8 Homework1 Memorize the new words and expressions in this lesson2 List
