Unit 6 I will never forget our friendship Topic3, Section D Good morning ladies and gentleman! Its my great honor to interpret my teaching idea about Section D ,Topic3 of Unit 6 in Grade Nine, Project English. The center of this topic is I will never forget our friendship. In order to make my presentation clear, I divided the instruction into five parts, they are : Content Analysis, Teaching Method Analysis, The Analysis of Ss and Learning Method, Teaching procedures. . Content Analysis Topic3 is about graduation and farewell. In Section D, Michael, Maria and June will fly to their own countries, this lesson is about Kangkang seeing them off at Beijing airport. As for the Ss in Grade 9, this content conforms to the reality that they will leave school soon. So the Ss will have true feelings and thoughts. By learning it,The Ss can express their feelings about farewell。They will also be brought up to cherish their friendship forever.1. Knowledge objective (1)Learn the new words and expressions in this lesson. Hurry up, head back, at any minute now (2) Sum up the sentence patterns about farewell.a. We have only a little time left to say goodbye.b. Im sad to be here watching you all head back home.c. I hope you will have a great future.2. Ability objectiveLearn to express the feelings about farewell3. Emotion objective Learn to cherish and remember their friendshipLearn to have positive attitude towards farewell.4. Key points and difficult points(1)The sentence patterns about farewell.(2)Learn to express their feelings about detachment.Well,how to achieve the teaching objectives better, to stress the key points and break through the difficult points? The key is to how to make use the proper teaching method. Next, Ill talk about my teaching methods. .Teaching Method Analysis In this lesson, I will use Task-Based language teaching method and situational teaching approach.The former offers Ss chances to complete the tasks in which Ss can use language to achieve a specific outcome. The activity reflects real life and learners focus on the meaning. So the Ss can use any language they want.The latter is a “scene-activity” teaching method. It establishes a real scene and interaction for my students. It emphasizes a dynamic exchange between the teacher and the Ss.In order to mobilize the Ss enthusiasm and creativity, I will use multi-media computer and a tape recorder as teaching aids. The Analysis of Ss and Learning MethodThe Ss are facing the reality of leaving each other, they are sure to have many words to say. Suhumlinsiji says:“in ones mind, there is always a kind of deeply rooted demand, that is the hope to feel oneself a finder and explorer. In Ss spirits, such demand is especially strong. ” So in my class, they are challenged to take an active part in varied kinds of activities. Group work and discussion can greatly arouse their interest and help them to cooperate with each other, the tasks I designed will help the Ss to understand the whole text easily. Anyway, letting the Ss study in a relaxed and agreeable atmosphere is very important. Teaching proceduresIn order to realize the teaching process systematically, properly and efficiently, under the principle of “regard Ss as the corpus, the teacher inspires for predominance”, I divide the teaching process into five steps.Step1 Warm-up (5 minutes)First, greet to my deer students as usual then ask: Do you like singing? Do you like English songs? Do you want your English teacher to sing an English song for you? Of course, my Ss will be very excided .So Id like to begin my class with the English song “Sealed with a kiss” After singing, ask: What feeling does the song express? It is very easy and natural to lead to the topic about detachment. Step2 Presentation (10 minutes) First, show Ss a picture about 1a, tell them Kangkang will see his friends off at the airport, Do you know how they feel about farewell? Then Id like to teach 1a from the following three aspects.(1) Books closed. Listen to the tape and answer some easy questions. Let them get the main idea.(2) Books open. Listen again and let Ss find out the new words and sentences patterns about farewell. Then teach and explain them.(3) Play the tape for the third time, let Ss read after it and try to imitate the right intonation and pronunciation. Then take roles to practice it.By this step, it achieves the teaching aim of understanding and talking about the dialogue of this lesson.Step 3 Consolidation. (10 minutes)Offer the Ss such a specific situationto see their friend off. Ask them to make similar dialogs in pairs or in groups then act them out. Of course, encourage them not to be afraid of making mistakes.To master the language capability needs certain amount of practice, so I adopt the “situational teaching approach”. The Ss can get the key points and break through the difficult points by scene demonstration.Step 4 Practice (8 minutes)(1) Let the Ss complete Part2 alone, then explain it and check the answers.(2) Sum up the main expressions and sayings in this topic.Step 5 Project (12 minutes)(1) Let the Ss collect some famous sayings and choose one as motto.(2) Graduation is coming . It is time for them to write parting words to their friends in their yearbooks. What will they say? Now, choose three students in our class to write their parting words?This step not only develops Ss ability, but also leads to the emotion objective. In order to have moral educat
