Unit 5 Why do you like pandas?Section A (1a-1c) 宽田中学: 王倩 一、教学目标: 1. 语言知识目标:1) 能掌握以下单词:动物名词:tiger, elephant, panda, lion, koala, giraffe描述动物的形容词:cute, lazy, smart, beautiful, scary, fun2) 能掌握以下句型:Do you /does she/ does he like(动物名词复数)? Lets see the first? Why do you/does she/ does he want to see ? Because they are . 2. 能力目标: To recognize the animals . To describe the animals and talk about their preferences. 3. 情感态度价值观目标:动物和人类都生活在同一地球上,动物是我们的朋友。让学生明白应当学会关爱动物,保护动物。关爱动物,就是关爱我们自己!二、教学重难点1. 教学重点:1) 认识本节课所学的动物并会熟练朗读单词。2) 学会表达描述某类动物的形容词并会熟练朗读。3) 学会表达喜欢某类动物及说明喜欢的原因。2. 教学难点:1)学会用不同的形容词描述某类事物。2)学会表达喜欢某类动物及说明喜欢的原因并与同伴编对话。三、教学过程. Warming-up 1. Greet the students and introduce myself in a short way. 2. Encourage the students to be brave. Lead in1.To motivate the students learning interest, I let the students enjoy a short video that related to the animals. And ask them some questions about the video:T:Do you like this video?T:What can you see in it?Then have them to recall the animals they had seen and learn the new word: animal. Presentation1. Show the students some pictures about animals. Let them know animals are our good friends.2. Ask them if they want to make some new friends with animals?3. learn the new words by playing a guessing game.First, use some typical words to introduce different animals and let the students guess what animal it is.T:Ill introduce some new animal friends to you. The first one:Now ,can you guess who she/he is?Then the students give their answers. I show the students some pictures about this animal and present the new word for them. Learn the new word. (use this way to learn tiger, lion, panda, elephant, koala, giraffe)Last, talk about if they like this animal and tell us the reason.T: Do you like pandas?T: Why do you like pandas? Because they are cute.(use this way to learn the adjectives: cute, fun, smart, lazy, scary, beautiful)4.Review the animal words and adjectives. Give the students a chant to help them remember the new words.5.Ask the students to practice with their partners.6.Turn back to books. Ask the students to open the books and turn to page 25. Ask them to finish 1a.7.Check the answers with the students. T: lets see the animals. Oh, look, over there. The tiger is in picture a.Who is she/he in Picture b.8. Listening: work on 1b. Tell Ss to listen to the tape and check the animals they hear in 1a. Play the recording again and check the answers with the class. T: Students in class one are seeing the animals too. Now lets listen to their conversations and check the animals they want to see. Ask a student to give her/his answer.9. Pair work 1)Ask the students to imagine “ We are in the zoo, there are many kinds of animals here.” Then ask a student to do the model with me: Lets see the lions first. Why? (why do you /does she /does he like lions?) Because they are interesting. 2) Ss work with their partners practice the conversation using the animal in 1a. IV. Summary Have a short summary about we have learned in this class. Ask the students to recall the knowledge.V. Homework: 1. Remember and read the new words and conversations in this period at least three times. 2. Describe the animals your you like and give the reason.VI. Thoughts and feelingsRecently, animals are in great danger because of human beings. We all know animals are good friends.
