Learn some ways of expressing advice. 三、Teaching methods Communicative approach, Audio-lingual method,Activity teaching method 四、Teaching procedures Step 1 Lead-in Greet the class as usual. Step 2 Warm-up Today, we are going to learn unit 4. In this unit,we are going to talk about problems and learn to give others advice. Look! The boy is Dave. He looks unhappy. Do you know whats wrong with him?/Whats the matter with him? Try to guess, please. Maybe he has too much homework to do. This is Daves problem. In our life, we may have some problems, too. Now, lets look at more pictures to learn more students problems. Step 3 Presentation 1.Listening (1)Learn some phrases and sentences and read them. (2)Listen and circle (3)Check the answer (4)Read the listening material and find the advice (5)Explain the use of why dont you. /why not .and give examples 2.Pair-work1 (1) Give them a pattern (2) Ask them to make a short conversation. (3) Invite some students to present their conversations. 3.Listening (2a) There is a boy. His name is Peter. He is unhappy today, because he had a fight with his good friend and he dont know how to do. Listen to the recording and fill in the blanks with could or should. (1)Students listen and fill in the blanks (2)Check the answers (3)Read the sentences together 4. Listening (2b) 1. Let Ss read the sentences below. Explain some main sentences for the Ss. Make sure they know the meaning of each sentence. 2. Play the recording for the Ss to write the letters (a-e) next to the advice in 2a. 3. Play the recording again to check the answers. Step 4 Pair work 1. Tell Ss to make a conversation using the information in 2a and 2b. 2. Let one pair to read out their conversation first. 3. e.g. A: Whats the matter, Peter? B: I had a fight with my best friend. What should I do? A: Well, you should call him so that you can say youre sorry. B: But I dont want to talk about it on the phone. 4. Ss act the conversation in pairs. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations. Step 5 Role-play 1. Ss read the conversations and try to understand the meaning. 2. Read the conversation after the teacher. 3. Answer the questions. 1) How does Kim feel about her sister after her sister gave back the things? 2) Does Dave think it is all right for Kims sister to take away Kims things? How do you know?3) Does Dave think the two sisters have a serious problem? How do you know?4) What does Dave mean by saying “Hope things work out”?4. Practice the conversation with their partner. Then let some pairs to act out the conversation. 5. Explain some new words and main points in the conversation. Step 6 Summary In this class, we learned how to talk about problems and how to give others advice. Step 7 Exercise.根据语境及所给首字母提示,补全所缺单词。1.
