Qomolangma is the highest mountain in the world. How long is Qomolangma?Its 8,844.43 meters high. Its higher than any other mountain.Which is the deepest salt lake in the world?The Caspian Sea is the deepest of all the salt lake.Did you know that China is one of the oldest countries in the world?Yes, I did. Its much older than the US.Ability aims:1.The students can use the questions to get information to improve their listening and speaking abilities. 2.To train the students cooperation with their partners.Emotional aims:To know our nature is so beautiful. Let Ss know the names of the tallest mountain, the longest river and so on in the world.Let students learn the new words desert.Step 3 presentation T: Do you know these interesting places?Show a passage to explain these famous places.e.g: Qomolangma runs along the border between China and Nepal. It is covered with snow all the year round. Its 8844.43 high, the highest in the world.
