Qomolangma is the highest mountain in the world. How long is Qomolangma?Its 8,844.43 meters high. Its higher than any other mountain.Which is the deepest salt lake in the world?The Caspian Sea is the deepest of all the salt lake.Did you know that China is one of the oldest countries in the world?Yes, I did. Its much older than the US.Ability aims:1.The students can use the questions to get information to improve their listening and speaking abilities. 2.To train the students cooperation with their partners.Emotional aims:To know our nature is so beautiful. And ask the students whats the name of this mountain.Step 2 Learning 1.Students look at the pictures and answer the name of the mountain is Qomolangma. The desert is Sahara. The river is the Nile. The sea is the Caspian Sea. Let Ss know the names of the tallest mountain, the longest river and so on in the world.Let students learn the new words desert.Step 3 presentation T: Do you know these interesting places?Show a passage to explain these famous places.e.g: Qomolangma runs along the border between China and Nepal. It is covered with snow all the year round. Its 8844.43 high, the highest in the world. Its 26 kilometers long.Step 3 PresentationFrom the pictures and the passages know something about Qomolangma, the Nile, the Sahara, the Caspian Sea and the Yangtze River.Ss know how to use the superlative adjective to describe the places.
