基本信息课题人教版八年级下 Unit 6 An old man tried to move the mountains? Section A(1a-2c) 新授课作者及工作单位珠海市唐家中学 傅亮亮教学内容分析This part is the first lesson of unit6, it is about some Chinese old stories. They are very interesting, and students are familiar with them. In this lesson, students will mainly learn how to tell a story of Yu Gong moving the mountains with the simple past tense and learn the split of Yu Gong. Maybe it is difficult for some students. So, the teacher should try best to give some useful details or important information including listening and vocabularies to help students tell a story. 学情分析The students have learned the simple past tense . They can understand some words and simple sentences through listening and speaking. Theyll enjoy learning through cooperation in a relaxing atmosphere, but they are not in the same level, so the teacher need use different teaching methods to increase their learning interest and confidence. The students in this age have their own ideas and good memories, so the teacher could encourage students to put the theory into practice.教学目标Language goals: (1) Key VocabularyWords: shoot stone weak god remindPhrases: once upon a time as soon as was moved take away unless(2) Target LanguageTo learn to retell the story of Yu Gong Moving the Mountains.To learn to simply express their own opinions on the story.Ability goals:(1) The students can get the general ideas of the story by listening.(2) To improve the students listening and speaking abilities .(3) To train the students ability of retelling the story of Yu Gong Moves a Mountainwith the simple past tense.(4) The students can think deeply and simply give their own opinions on the story.Moral goals: (1) You never know whats possible unless you try to make it happen.(2) Educate students not to be afraid of difficulties and develop the spirit that one never gives up.教学重点和难点TeachingImportantPoints: 1. Teach new vocabularies and the names of some Chinese fairy tales.2. Teach students to retell the story and give their own opinions on the story.3. Lego bricks 5.prize教学过程教学环节教师活动预设学生行为设计意图及策略Step1 Warm up Play a video of a story called Yu Gong Moves the Mountains before the class begins.Watch the video课前开始播放一个愚公移山的视屏,这不仅增进学生对本节课的了解及兴趣,同时也为后面学习的内容做了一个铺垫。Step2 Lead in1. Greetings: guide students to the title- An old man tried to move the mountains.2. A guessing game to lead students to learn some more Chinese traditional stories by showing seven pictures. 3. Learn a new word-shoot1. Greetings: say out the title.2. Students enjoy the pictures of Chinese fairy tales and say their Chinese names according to English.3. Learn a new word.以学生熟悉的故事引入本课话题。对这些民间故事学生们应该很熟悉,很容易调动他们的学习兴趣,但对他们的英文表达并不清楚。通过图文并茂的形式,可以让学生们对这些故事标题的英文表达记忆更加深刻,为后面内容的学习进行了合理导入 。Step 3presentationMatching 1a1.Ask students to pen the book and turn to page 41 , match the story with the pictures a-d2. Ask and check the answer.1. Open the book.2. Check and say out answers together.基于前面的导入,1a的任务变得非常简单,所以鼓励全班学生(包括C层和D层学生)说出故事英文名所对应的图片,检测学生对刚才导入图片及英文名的熟悉程度。Step 4 Listening 1b1.Lead in Show a picture in which Anna and Wang Ming are talking on the phone The teacher introduces they are Anna and Wang Ming T: One more picture, in the picture, this is Anna and this is Wang Ming. A phone rings, the teacher asks like below:T: What are they doing? T: Guess, what are they talking about on the phone? T: Which story are they talking about? 2. Listening 1b Before listening: Guide students to look through the title, three sentences and predict answers. While-listening: The teacher play the video once and keep students listen to it carefully. Post-listening: Ask one student of B level to answer and read out the whole sentences he has heard.The teacher and other SS give comments.3. Blank filling 1bBefore listening: The teacher gives each student a piece of paper, teaches them a new phrase and a new word. While-listening: The teacher plays the video twice and walks around to check. Post-listening: Ask three students to write on board and others fill in blanks on the paper. The teacher guides other SS to check and gives comments.教学意图及教学策略:为增进学生对故事开始部分的了解及语言输入,老师将课本1c的三个问题降低了难度,从写句子简化到写6个词。1.在听力之前,给每个学生分发有听力任务的纸,先引导学生预读听力任务,熟悉新词汇,预先扫除学生听力中可能遇到的理解障碍。 2.听力播放两遍,在听完之后,让A/B/C层的三位学生板书,其他学生动笔在位置上写,老师巡视,适时给予评价,加以鼓励,增进学生学习的信心。1. Look at the picture with great interest. Students answer like below:SS: They are talking on the phone.SS: They are talking about a story.SS: They are talking about Yu Gong Moves a Mountain.2. SS look through the title, three sentences and predict. SS Listen carefully One student of B level answers and reads out the whole sentences he has got.Other SS check the answers and give comments.3.SS look through the passage with the blank first, learn once upon a time and stoneSS write down the key letter of each word.Three students write answers on board and others fill in blanks on the paper,check the answer and give comments.1. 老师引导学生观察图片上的人和物,通过师生问答的方式让学生猜测图片人物谈论的话题,从而自然过渡到1b要听的话题。2.听力前提醒学生快速浏览题目要求及底下三个句子,让学生明确听力任务。认真听后,叫一名B程度的学生回答,读出所听到的句子,核对答案。检测学生语音表达及从听力内容中提取关键信息的能力。老师引导学生适时评价,及时鼓励,增进学习信心。3.为增进学生对故事开始部分的了解,老师将课本1c的三个问题降低了难度,从写句子简化到写6个词。1)在听力之前,给每个学生分发有听力任务的纸,先引导学生预读听力任务,熟悉新词汇,预先扫除学生听力中可能遇到的理解障碍。 2)听力播放两遍,在听完之后,让A/B/C层的三位学生板书,其他学生动笔在位置上写,考察学生听并抓细节的能力,老师巡视,适时给予评价,加以鼓励,增进学生学习的信心。Step 5 Listening 2b&2a1. Lead inA piece of PPT leads students from the beginning to the rest of this story.T: So far, we have learned., do you want to know the rest of the story?2. Listening 2b Before listening: Guide students to look through the title and five sentences, andtry to guess the general meaning of sentences with new vocabularies like weak, god, remind, as soon as, was moved, take away, unless.Teacher encourages students to predict and underline the words they think correct. While-listening: The teacher plays the video once and keep students listening to it carefully. Post-listening: Ask five students to answer and read out the whole sentences with the correct words they have circled. The Teacher Asks SS to raise hands if their answers are correct and explains new vocabularies to students.3. Listening 2aAfter 2b, the teacher guides students to do 2a, number the pictures (1-4), asks one student of B level to answer and leads other students to check answers and give comments.1.SS look at the PPT with great interest and answer yes.2. SS look through the title and below five sentences, try to guess the general meaning of these sentences and new vocabularies. SS predict and underline the words they think will be correct. SS listen carefully and circle the words they hear.Five students stand up and read out the whole sentences with correct words. SS raise their hands and learn of new words and phrases.3. After 2b, one student say out the correct number and other SS check the answers and give comments.老师通过用一张PPT起到了承上启下的作用,自然过渡到故事下半部分听力2b&2a,本部分的听力材料巩固和补充了1a-1c的语言输入,增加as soon as, but, so, finally等连词用于故事的叙述,使交际语言更丰富、更完整。活动将2b和2a的顺序做了一个调整,2b部分先对学生进行一个故事细节语言的输入,再到2a听力的排序,降低了学生学习的难度。听力活动中老师紧扣教学目标讲授新词汇,传授听力技巧:听前:快速预览信息,做适当猜测 听中:快速笔记听后:检查。学生回答问题时老师也考虑到了不同程度的学生,检测B/C/D层的语音语调及对内容的了解程度,及时评价,适时鼓励,增进学生学习的信心。Step6 Work on 2C1. Group work Guide students to remember the key words or phrases in the story according to the Mind-map. Story chain-Students work in group of four and discuss together to make sentences to retell a short story for each picture first. Students practice retelling the whole story according to all pictures by using the simple past tense, the teacher encourages them to add their own words as many as they can to help retell the story and walks around to give help.Show time: ask 6 students to make a story chain, then ask 2-3 students in different groups to try to retell the whole story, the teacher leads other SS to give comments on them and prepares the prize for the best.2. Thinking time The teacher guides students to think about this story independently and encourages everybody to say out their own opinions and simply give reasons. The teacher uses teaching aid -Lego bricks to help SS understand the story.-two mountains, road, tunnel. The teacher summarizes it like “different people have different opinions, there are many sides to a story.but anyway we should learn the spirit of Yu Gong.” -lead to the spirit1. SS watch six pictures and say out the key words or phrases. SS work in group of four to discuss how to make the sentence for each picture. SS write down sentences and add their own words to practice retelling the whole story.Show time: six students make a story chain, then three students in different groups retell the whole story .Other SS choose “ who is the Best story teller?” 2.SS think about it and six of them stand up and say out their own opinions and reasons. SS enjoy watching the teacher showing Lego and think and say. it helps SS to understand and think.SS give out their own opinions like “ Yu Gong is brave, Yu Gong kept trying and never gave up, Yu Gong could dig a tunnel or build a road instead of moving the mountains, it is silly.1. 本节课1a-2b的活动对学生进行了整个故事的语言输入,2c要完成故事输出的一个重大任务。这个任务为进一步巩固新学知识,加大难度到综合运用词汇成句,最后到成故事,要完成难度不小,考验了学生的看图发散能力,对此我采用了语言知识的综合运用策略和思维导图的方式。一步步耐心地引导学生学会看图,抓住关键词,以小组合作的形式练习故事接龙到完整复述整个故事,让A/B/C层的学生尝试复述,老师及时评价,适时鼓励,教学重难点突出。该活动不仅增强了学生综合运用语言的能力,而且小组合作学习,促进了以优带差,ABCD层学生的均衡发展及学习兴趣。老师巡视及时给予指导和帮助。2. 通过任务的设计、说明与布置,将2c的任务进一步拓展,指导学生将自己的所思所想转化为语言输出,实现目标语言。要求学生独立思考,头脑大风暴,思维发散,尝试发表不同观点,训练学生批判性思维,同时鼓励学生积极思考,勇于开口,该活动后面渗透了愚公精神,为接下来的情感教育做了很自然的铺垫。Step7 Moral educationThe teacher guides SS to learn the split of Yu Gong.1.You never know whats possible unless you try to make it happen.2.Educate students not to be afraid of difficulties and develop the spirit that one never gives up.SS learn the spirit of Yu Gong and they will stick on and never give up to make their dreams come true.将本节课的学习升华到学生的情感教育,鼓励学生学习愚公精神:像愚公一样明知困难却能迎难而上,凭借自己的力量勇敢的克服困难。愚公不畏艰险,不怕困难,永不放弃,勇敢面对的精神,正是值得我们所学习的。寓教于乐,寓教人、做人于课堂。Step7 SummaryThe teacher leads SS to make a summary for what they have learned in this class.1. new words,phrases and the names of some Chinese stories.(Guides SS to read them on the board.)2. to retell the story of Yu Gong moves the mountains and give their own opinions on the story. 3.the spirit of Yu Gong.1.SS read the new words,phrases on the board together.Shoot, stone.take away.2.SS review and say out the names of Chinese fairy tales.3.SS say out the split of Yu Gong.Keep trying and never give up, then you will be successful.引导学生一起回顾总结本节课的重难点,对整堂课形成一个整体的知识系统。Step8 Homework1.Imagine your group is making a movie called ”Yu Gong moves a mountain” for the “Oscar”, p
