Some of you may remember last years TV documentary film about a family of tigers in India. Well, this is an unusual cartoon based on that programme and I can report that its great fun for people of any age.Dont miss Swim!,a comedy which takes a look at learning to swim as an adult. Its about a 20yearold man who wants to join his friends when they swim in the lake near his home. So, he goes to the local pool to take lessons. Be prepared to laugh until it hurts! And now its competition time,so I hope youve listened carefully and made some notes! If you want to enter this months competition, just go online and answer the ten questions in our quiz. Go to www. and select your answers. Last month,we gave out free restaurant tickets as a prizethis time were offering cinema tickets which you can use at a choice of exciting places. You must complete your entry by May 28th. Make sure youve finished by 2:00 pm when the competition closes. Which film is probably the most successful one this week?_3 . How many films have they reviewed in todays programme?_4 . The film Swim isnt a funny film, isnt it?_5 . How can you enter this months competition?_6 . Do you want to take part in the competition? Why or why not?_It seems like every time you turn around, someone is talking about dieting. During gym class your best friend always complains about her “big” hips and how shes going on a diet to get rid of them. This focus on weight and dieting may leave you wondering whether you need to go on a diet yourself. The truth is that not all teens who diet actually need to lose weight. Because teens are still growing, dieting can sometimes be harmful to their developing bodies. Other teens may mistakenly think that in order to be in top form for their chosen sport, they need to be as thin as possible. The best person to see when you have a question about dieting is your doctor. Your doctor can help you determine what is a healthy weight for your body size and shape. He or she can help you decide whether you need to be on a diet at all. There are healthy and unhealthy ways to lose weight, and in the long run you are better off taking the healthy route. If you and your doctor do decide that going on a diet is the right thing for you, he or she can help you come up with a plan.Even without seeing your doctor, you can make smart food choices that will keep you healthy. Instead of chewing (嚼) down on chips when you get home from school, try a piece of fruit or some vegetables.Simple low-fat substitutions (替代品) can make a huge difference in your calorie intake as well. For example, skim or low-fat milk or water are better drink choices when youre thirstysoda and fruit drinks are loaded with calories and sugar and short on nutrition (营养).Another thing to keep in mind is that exercise can help you feel and look better. Regular exercise tones your muscles while you burn calories and fat, and it makes you look slimmer. Remember that toning up takes time. Running the mile in gym class once a year wont make a difference in overall weight loss, so start slowly and work up to it.Whether you go on a diet or not, exercising and healthy eating are excellent ways to keep your body in great shape Cutting down on the time you spend in front of the computer or TV can help you boost your activity level and may even help you snack less. And research shows that people who exercise regularly are more likely to maintain their new weight if theyve lost weight. So, get moving and keep your health on track!7 . Do all the teens who diet need to lose weight?8 . Who is the best person to help you when you have a question about dieting?9 . What kind of help can your doctor offer with your dieting?10 . How can we keep in great shape?11 . What does the writer mainly talk about?Answer the questions.(根据短文内容回答下列问题) : When Jan and Brian Dutcher moved to San Diego for Brians new job at San Diego State University, the neighbors smiled and introduced themselves. But there were no “ bring a plate” invitations, no car pooling for her daughters Liza, 12 and Erin, 15.“The family really didnt know each other, and we missed that,” says Jan. “We are far from relatives. Neighbors are our family.”So Jan, an artist, decided to repeat a project she had done for Lizas fifth-grade class: ask each person to paint his or her face on a big canvas(帆布). The finished piece would become the new family photo.First , Jan painted a grid(网格) on the canvas and put it up in the garage with a table of paints nearby. Then whenever she was home, the “art room” door was up , with an open invitation for neighbors to paint. The first to stop in were kids riding by. “They thought it was cool,” says Jan, but the adults werent so keen. “ Most said they hadnt picked up a paint brush since kindergarten,” she says. “They were afraid theyd mess it up.” But as word slowly spread, they came, some using their drivers license photos as models. Then something started to happen. They returned -to see who had painted, or if they could recognize who was who. In Jans garage, they began to chat about schools, jobs, and families. Almost daily. Wendy, who lived across the street and was seriously ill, came in her wheelchair to watch the fun. Neighbors began to offer their support. When the worst things happened and Wendy died, they stood by her husband, Bill and invited him over for dinners. This year has been different in the neighborhood. Families take turns hosting happy hours. “We re watching over each other now just like in the painting.” says Jan.12 . Why did the Dutchers move to San Diego?13 .
