、53. A. shockB. wonderC. worryD. pleasure 54. A. ifB. forC. whileD. although 55. A. excitedB. satisfiedC. thinkD. laugh Uncle All

、ens,也不是Belleville,而是an evening,所以应填when,相当于in which也即in the evening,所以正确答案为A。

45B解析:settle down安顿,定居;put down写出,写下;take down取下,写下,记录;let down放低,放下;take down只指记下别人说的或写的东西,而put down还可指把自己想写的东西写出来,所以B为正确答案。

、the night was half,很显然这里应填time,There was no time left to do sth为“没有做某事的时间了”,所以A为正确答案。 There is no choice but to do sth“除了做某事以外,别无选择”。

I want to read you a composition和最后一段中的the whole class was laughing可知老师朗读了“我”的作文。read loud“朗读”,而publicly是“公开的”=openly, not in private,所以正确答案为A。

Cultural differences in business entertaining include problems such as whom one entertains and where and how one entertains.
