2、conversations in fairly fluent English. They should, by and large, be able to express their personal opinions, feelings and views, to state facts and reasons, and to describe events with clear articulation and basically correct pronunciation and intonation (College English Curriculum Requirements, 2

3、007). The course emphasizes conversations, discussion leading, presentations, and vocabulary building so students can speak English with confidence.The course provides practice in language use (fluency/accuracy/complexity); topic development (fluency and coherence); delivery (accurate pronunciation,

4、 stress and intonation patterns).The course encourages critical thinking, collaborative learning and independent practice. Learning the course, students will be able to carry out group projects. practice with on-line materials (recommended in related resources). speak in English socially (including
