space

realm

The

proposal

is

to

have

a

joint

venture

between

the

government

and

private

realm

to

create

infill

in

the

form

of

a

largeunderground

parking

garage

infrastructure

outside

of

the

existing

dyke

to

relieve

the

vehicular

traffic

pressure

within

the

CBD

while

at

the

same

timeproviding

open

space

on

its

roof

top

podium.

Riverfront

attract

people

to

this

park,

both

active/commercial

and

passive

programs

must

be

introducedwithin

the

overall

planning

of

the

park.

The

park

is

actually

separated

into

two

parts

with

different

functions.

To

the

north

is

the

more

active

portionleading

up

to

the

open

riverfront

multipurpose

lawns

and

fields

that

front

the

new

extended

Zhuzhou

urban

core.

This

area

will

consists

of

a

centralcommercialcentretobringpeopleintothesitewhilegivingpeoplesomethingtodowhilewithinthepark.

Behindthecommercialcentrewillbeitsowncommercialplazawherefunctionsand/oroutdoorcafescanbeextendedinto.

To

thesouthistherecreationareaofthesitefrontingthemoreresidentialarea

of

the

site

thus

the

park

provides

amenity

to

the

surrounding

urban

fabric.

This

area

consist

of

an

informal

running

track,

basketball

courts,

and

alarge

informal

lawn

and

plaza

for

a

multiple

range

of

activities

such

as

community

soccer

matches,

weekend

or

night

time

community

dancing,

and

people

the

commercial

and

retail

activity

around

the

embankment,

the

east

is

considerably

morepassive

due

to

the

high

concentration

of

residential

land

use

by

the

riverfront.

Although

within

the

New

Central

Core

Area,

the

design

proposes

tocreate

a

soft

swath

of

multipurpose

lawn

and

spaces

that

relate

to

the

community;

creating

an

amenity

space

for

the

resident’s

living

by

the

waterfront.Because

the

embankment

is

not

wide

enough

to

place

adult

or

junior

soccer

fields,

baseball

diamonds,

or

any

other

large

lawn

sport

venues,
