replacementofdevices.Thisisthekeytooptimizingperformance.CombiningDCSfunctionalityandaplant-wideinfrastructure,theExperionPKSunifiedarchitectureprovidescollaborativeproductionmanagementsolutionsforKnowledgeManagement,AssetandAbnormalSituationManagement,BusinessProcessIntegration,andOptimizationandAutomation.EP03-210-200Version1.0installation.Figure1isarepresentationofmanyofthepossiblenodesthatcanbeutilizedinanExperionPKSarchitecture.Notethatthearchitectureishighlyscalableandnotallnodesarenecessaryorrequired.ExperionStationOverviewThisdocumentdetailsthespecificationsandtechnicaldatafortheExperionStationhardwareandsoftware.ExperionStationisapowerfuloperatorinterfacethatcanbeutilizedindifferentformsfordifferentfunctionsaroundaplantormill.Forexample,theExperionStationmaybeusedbyanoperatorforaroundtheclocksystemoperationorbyamaintenancetechnicianonawirelessdevice.ArchitectureOverviewExperionPKScomprisesmanydifferentintegratedhardwareandsoftwaresolutionsdependingupontheneedsoftheUnlimitedSecureAccesswwweServerCasualUsersApplicationControlEnvironmentExperionStationsState-of-the-ArtOperationandEngineeringToolsAdvancedApplicationsandIntegrationRemoteEngineeringToolsWirelessDevices(OperationsandMaintenanceFaultTolerantEthernetC200PMDFSCRedundantServersGEFanucVersamaxAllen-BradleyControlLogixPLCTPS,TDC2000,TDC3000MTL8000DigitalVideoManagerFrequencyConverterPMI/OSCADADevices(OPC,Modbus,DH+,andmanymore!InvestmentProtection–CompleteIntegrationEthernetComprehensiveSupportforSmartFieldDevicesVideoasaProcessInput!Figure1.SampleExperionPKSArchitecture-2-FunctionalDescriptionExperionStationTheExperionStationemploysindustry-leadingtechnologyandadvancedfeaturestoprovidetheoperationsplatformrequiredfortoday’senterprises.Addressingtoday’sneedsandtomorrow’srequirementsisthehallmarkoftheHMIWebtechnologyattheheartoftheExperionStation.ThereareseveraltypesofExperionStationavailabletosatisfyabroadrangeofneeds.Theyinclude:•ExperionStation–Flex(ES-F•ExperionStation–Console(ES-C•ExperionStation–ConsoleExtension(ES-CE•ExperionStation–TPS(ES-TNotethattheES-TencompassesmanyfunctionsspecifictothemigrationofTPS.Assuch,it’stechnicaldataandspecificationsareincludedindocumentEP03-220-200,TPSIntegrationSpecificationandTechnicalData.InadditiontotheExperionStationscitedabove,awirelessconfigurationisalsoavailable.MobileStationPKSisdiscussedonpage5.AllExperionStationtypesutilizethesameoperatorinterfaceandsharetheavailablefeaturesetforconsistentoperationregardlessofnode.Thisalsomeansthatconfigurationissimplifiedascustomdisplays,trendsets,etc.areconfiguredonceandavailableacrossthevarioustypesofExperionStations.AmixofExperionStationtypescanbeimplementedtoprovidethemostappropriate,site-specificsolutionpossible.Forexample,asitemaychoosetoimplementamixofES-CsandES-CEsinacentralcontrolroom.ES-Fscouldbeusedontheplantfloor,insatellitecontrolrooms,andintheengineeringandmaintenanceoffices.Additionally,casualusersthroughouttheenterprisemayuseES-FsoreServersolutions(seePNPN03-103E,eServerProductInformationNote.ExperionStation–FlexTheES-Fisaveryversatileoperatorinterface.Sinceitutilizesaclient-serverrelationshiptopresentprocessdatatotheoperator,itcanbeappliedanywhereaslongasithasaconnectiontotheserver(orredundantservers,includingInternet,wirelessanddial-upconnections.WhenconfiguringanES-F,theuserhasachoiceofconnectionmethods:•Static–Providesapermanent,dedicatedlinktoaspecificES-F.Thisistherecommendedconnectiontypewhenusedforfulltimeoperations.•Rotary–Providesan“asrequired”connectiontoanES-F.Thisistherecommendedconnectiontypeforstaffwhodonotneedfull-timeaccess.RotaryconnectionsareadvantageousfromalicensingpointofviewbecauseyourlicenseonlyspecifiesthenumberofsimultaneouslyconnectedES-Fs(concurrent-uselicensing.RotaryStationsalsoprovidetheoptionofusingtheExperionStationinterfaceorMicrosoft’sInternetExplorer(IE.IEisidealforstaffthatwantstousefamiliardesktoptoolstointeractwiththeprocess.Allthesecuritymechanisms(seepage11oftheExperionStationareemployedwhenusingInternetExplorertoprotectyourprocessfromunauthorizedchanges.Figure2.ExperionStation–FlexDataandAlarms/EventsownedbyCEEDevicesDataandAlarms/EventspresentedbyC200Controllers(C200,FIM,ACE,etc.andpublishedtoServerDynamicCacheES-FTheperformancebenefitsevenreachaboveandbeyondtheeconomicbenefitsofimplementingES-FsinanExperionPKSarchitecture.Forinstance,theExperionPKSServersubscribestodataandalarms/eventsonaproxybasisforeachES-Fasrequired.ThisresultsintheminimumpossiblecommunicationstotheCEEDevices(C200controller,ACE,etc.asshowninFigure2.AfulldescriptionofspecificExperionStationfeaturesbeginonpage6ofthisdocument.Page22isthebeginningofthetechnicalspecificationsforthehardwareandsoftware.ExperionStation–ConsoleAnES-CprovidesallthecapabilitiesofanES-FexceptthatitcommunicatesdirectlytotheExperionPKSCEEsubsystem(supportsdevicessuchastheC200controller,ACE,etc.Thisprovidesahigh-availabilityoperationsplatformforcriticalprocesses.Thisnodeisdesignedspecificallyforprocessesthatruncontinuouslyandrequireoperationspersonneltomaintainaconstantviewofthatprocess.SomekeycharacteristicsoftheES-Cinclude:•Directconnectiontodataandalarms/eventsforCEE-baseddevicessuchastheC200controller,ACE,etc.withinaServercluster.•Noduplicatedatabaseconfiguration–noextraengineeringefforttoaddanES-Ctoasystem•Multi-windowfunctionality(includingSafeView®isstandardfunctionalitywitheachES-C•Honeywell’sFaultTolerantEthernet(FTEsupportisstandardfunctionalitywitheachES-CAdditionalfunctionalityknownasConsolefunctionswillbedeliveredinmid2004.ThesefunctionsaredependentupontheES-CandES-CEnodes.Consolefunctionsincludeitemssuchastheabilitytosegmentalarmacknowledgementscope,crossscreeninvocation,andmore.Figure3.ExperionStation–ConsoleC200ControllersAlarms/EventsownedbyCEEDevices(C200,FIM,ACE,etc.andpublishedtotheServerDynamicCacheDataandAlarms/EventspresentedbyES-FDataandAlarms/EventsownedbyC200sandpublishedtoES-CsES-CES-CExperionStation–ConsoleExtensionAnES-CEwillconnecttoanES-CmuchlikeanES-FconnectstotheExperionPKSServer.Thisprovidesaneconomicalandefficientwaytoextendthehigh-availabilityfunctionalityoftheES-C.ES-CEswillbeavailableforExperionPKSinmid2004.Additionaldetailsonthetechnicalspecificationsforthisnodewillbepublishedinthisdocumentatthattime.MobileStationPKSMobileStationPKScomprisesapowerfulfamilyofsolutionsforrelayingcontrolsysteminformationtoremoteuserswhereandwhenneeded.Eachsolutionisoptimizedforspecificcustomerapplications,rangingfromread-onlyaccessovertheIntranetbymultiplecasualusers,tosecuresystemaccessformobileoperators.MobileStationPKSispartoftheMobilePKSsuiteofproductofferings.Solutionsrunonhardwareplatformssuchasoff-the-shelfPDAs,oravarietyofrugged,specializeddevices.MobileStationPKSconsistsofthreedifferentsolutions(tworequireeServer–seepage20:•MobileAccessforeServerStandard•MobileAccessforeServerPremium•MobileAccessforStationFigure4.ExperionStation–ConsoleExtensionC200ControllersAlarms/EventsownedbyCEEDevicesandpublishedtotheServerDynamicCacheDataandAlarms/EventspresentedbyES-FDataandAlarms/EventsownedbyCEEDevicesandpublishedtoES-CsES-CEES-CDataandAlarms/EventspresentedES-CECommonExperionStationFeaturesTheExperionPKSHumanMachineInterface(HMIutilizesHoneywell’sHMIWebtechnology,aWeb-basedarchitecturethatallowsHMIs,applicationdata,andbusinessdatatobeintegrated.HMIWebutilizesHoneywell’snext-generationoperatorinterfacetechnology,whichusesHTMLasthenativedisplayformattoprovideaccesstoprocessgraphicdisplaysfromeitherthesecureExperionStationenvironmentordirectlyfromMicrosoft’sInternetExplorer,withoutfunctionality-reducingexportsorcumbersomeplug-ins.Theuseofanopen,industrystandardfileformatreducesengineeringtimewhileallowinguserstotakeadvantageofexistingknowledgeandreusedisplaysbetweensystems.FullsupportfordisplaysfromearlierPlantScapereleasefileformatsensuresdirectmigrationpathforexistingPlantScapereleasesystems.Thesebenefitsareallachievedwhilemaintainingsecureaccess,robustdesign,andhighperformance.TheExperionStationHMIallowsforstateoftheart,objectbasedgraphicstoprovideapowerfulinterfacefortheuser.Theuseofindustrystandards,suchasMicrosoftWindows2000andXP,Ethernet,HTMLandtheInternet,minimizeoperatortrainingbyprovidingafamiliaroperatingenvironmentatalltimes.TheHMIWebStationmakesextensiveuseofuserconfigurablepull-downmenusandtoolbarstoalloweasy,intuitivenavigationandfastaccesstokeyprocessdata.Theusabilityoftheoperatorinterfaceisfurtherenhancedwithfeaturessuchasrecentlyusedcommandlist,copyandpaste,livevideointegration,ActiveXsupport,scripting,launchingapplicationsandsupportforstandardperipheralssuchas:•Soundcards,•Touchscreens,•Multi-screenvideocards,and•Trackballs.Criticalinformationisconveyedusingdedicatedannunciatorsforalarms,systemeventsandoperator/controllermessages.Adedicatedalarmlineatthebottomofeachgraphicshowsthemostrecent(oroldesthighestpriority,unacknowledgedalarmatalltimes.TheExperionStationcanbecustomizedtoprovidetheappropriateoperatingenvironmentforanoperator,siteorcompany.Thisincludestheabilitytoaddandmodifytoolbars,menusandkeyboardshortcutsoftheExperionStation.StandardSystemDisplaysStandardsystemdisplaysmakeiteasyforoperatorstolearnandusethesystem.Anextensiverangeofstandarddisplaysisavailableincluding:•Menu/navigationdisplays•Alarmsummary•Eventsummary•Trends•Operatinggroups•Pointdetails•Popupfaceplates•Systemstatusdisplays•Configurationdisplays•LoopTuningdisplays•Diagnosticandmaintenancedisplays•SummarydisplaysLiveVideoLivevideointegrationisanimportantfeaturewhereremotesitesmaybeunmanned.TheExperionStationnotonlyallowstheoperatortoviewlivevideofromremotelocationsbutalsoprovidestheabilitytoswitchcameras,andpan,tiltorzoomthecameratofocusinonaparticulararea.Theintegratedvideocanbedisplayedfromanyvideosource,andaccessedinExperionStationviaasimplevideocard,anetworkedvideostreamer,oralternativelytheDigitalVideoManager(seepage21solutionavailablefromHoneywell.OPCDisplayDataClientTheOPCDisplayDataClientallowstheusertoinsertOPCDataontoadisplaywithouttheneedtobuildpoints(theuserisnotrequiredtopurchaseSCADApointsforOPCDataofthistype.Thisisidealfordatathatjustneedstobevisualizedbytheoperatoranddoesnotneedtobealarmed,historized,etc.OPCDatathatisacquiredinthisfashionsupportsbothreadsandwrites.PopupFaceplatesIntegratedpopupfaceplatewindowssupportisstandardintheExperionStation.Thesearelaunchedwithasingleclickfromyourprocessgraphicdisplay.Noengineeringisrequired.Allstandardpointtypesaredeliveredcompletewithfaceplates,andifrequired,theusercanbuildtheirowncustomfaceplates.Thefaceplatesprovideadvancedfeaturesincluding:•Upto4faceplatescanbeopenedatonce.•Faceplatesoperateinround-robinscheme,unlessaspecificfaceplateispush-pinned.•Push-pinningpreservesthefaceplatefromclosurewhennewdisplaypagesarecalled.Asaresult,theusercancallatrenddisplay,viewanalarmdisplayandthenreturntoaprocessdisplaywhilemaintainingprocesscontrolfromthefaceplates.SafeBrowseSafeBrowseallowstheusertosecurelybrowseeithertheircompanyIntranetorInternetrightfromwithinStation!Thisallowsthesystemtoviewcorporatedocuments,suchasStandardOperatingProceduresfromacrosstheworld,ortokeepoperatorsinformedofrelevantproductinformation.BecausetheoperatorisusingStationasthebrowsinginterface,hemaintainshisviewofalarmsandheisrestrictedtoonlybrowsingwhatisconfigured.SafeBrowsehasthreelevelsofsecurity:•Unrestricted•Restricted(limitedtocertainURLs•NoAccessAlarmandEventDisplaysAlarmSummaryDesignedtoconformtotheASMConsortium’srecommendedguidelines,thestandardAlarmSummarydisplayallowsoperatorstofocusontheproblemathand.Thefollowingfeaturesprovideapowerfulandflexibleenvironment:•SelectableAreaPanesupportsrapidalarmfilteringbyPlantAreaandprovidessummaryalarmcountdetails.•SelectableDetailPaneshowsextensivealarmconditiondetails.•ViewConfigurationcreates,saves,andrecallscustomoperatoralarmviews(Area/Time/Pointfilters.•CustomFiltercanbeappliedtoeachcolumninthealarmdisplay,enablingrapidattentiontobefocussedonproblems.•AlarmscanbefilteredbyPriority.•RepeatAlarmHandlingkeepstheAlarmSummaryfromfillingupwithachatteringalarm.Asinglealarmincludesdetailsonthetimethealarmoriginallyoccurred,thetimeitlastoccurred,andthetotalnumberoftimesthealarmoccurred.AlarmsontheAlarmSummarydisplaycanbeacknowledgedeitherindividuallyorperpage.Oncustomgraphics,alarmscansimilarlybeacknowledgedonanindividualorperpagebasis.ExperionPKSallowstheengineertoconfigurecustomalarmprioritycolors.Thecustomcolorsconfiguredforthevariousalarmprioritiescanalsoappearonallprocessgraphicdisplays.Thisenablesoperatorstoimmediatelydeterminewhichalarmconditionsaremostimportant.InFigure5.StandardFaceplateFigure6.AlarmSummarywithAreaPaneandDetailPaneadditiontothisfeature,thealarmannunciatorintheStationstatuszoneblinkswiththecolorofthehighestpriorityunacknowledgedalarm–anothertimesavingfeatureforplantpersonnel.EventSummaryTheEventSummarylistseventsthatoccurinthesystem,including:•Alarms•AlarmAcknowledgments•ReturntoNormal•OperatorControlActions•OperatorLogin&SecurityLevelChanges•On-lineDatabaseModifications•CommunicationsAlarms•SystemRestartMessagesUpto30,000eventsmaybestoredintheEventSummary.Userscanconfigurearchivefunctionalitytostoreeventsonlineaswellastonetworkserversorremovablemediatoaccessatalaterdate.OtherSummaryDisplaysInadditiontotheAlarmandEventSummaryDisplays,theoperatorisalsopresentedwithaMessageSummaryDisplayforanyprocess-relatedmessages.ASummaryDisplayisalsoavailabletopresentSOE(SequenceofEventsnotificationstotheoperator.NotethatSOEnotificationsareonlyavailablewhenspecificSOE-capablehardwareisimplemented.ThefeaturesofthisdisplayareessentiallyidenticaltotheEventSummaryDisplay.CommonFeaturesThedefaultsummarydisplaysprovideascrollablelistofallalarms,eventsandmessages.Thiscanoftenbealargeamountofinformationforanoperatortoviewatonetime.Customizingthesummariesenablesyoutoorganizetheinformationtoprovidemoreusefulsummariesforoperators.Forexample,youcancustomizetheAlarmSummarytoshowonlytheurgentpriorityalarmswithinaparticulararea.Figure7.ExperionStationStatusZoneandAlarmLineYoucancustomizeasummaryby:•Filteringandsortingentriesshownonthesummary•Changingthelayoutofthesummary–identifywhichcolumnsshouldbeshown,whatorderthecolumnsshouldbeshown,etc.•ShowingorhidingtheAreaselector•ShowingorhidingtheDetailspaneThesesettingscanbesavedasaviewsothatoperatorscanreapplythecustomizationwhenrequired.Youcanalsodeterminethelevelofcustomizationthatyouprovidetoanoperator.Forexample,youcandisabletheviewconfigurationfunctionsothatcertainoperatorscannotsavedifferentviews.Thesummarydisplaysalsoincludeanad-hocreportingcapability.Theoperatorcanchoosetovieworprintinreportformatthesummarydisplayasconfiguredwithcustomsortandfilterconditions.Thedetailpaneforsummariesincludetabbeddisplays.TheGeneraltabincludesallinformationaboutaselectedentry.ACommenttaballowsoperatorstoentercommentsaboutaparticularentry.Operatorscanentermultiplecommentswithoutoverwritingtheoriginalcomments.Eachenteredcommentisalsosavedasanevent.AggregateAlarmingTheAggregateAlarmingfeatureallowsarbitrarygroupingsofalarmstobecreatedthatareindependentofthestandardareamodel(typicallyusedtosegmentthedatabasebyprocessarea.Thisfunctionalitycanbeusedinmanyways.Oneexa
