基数词和序数词

英语上表示数目和顺序的词叫数词，数词又分为两大类：基数词和序数词。

一、基数词

所谓基数，在数学上的理解是可以比较大小的数字。英语中的基数词是用于描述事物数

量的多少。所以，基数词的定义为：描述事物数量的多少的数词称为基数词。

1、第一类：

one―-two二three三four四five五six六seven七

eight八nine九ten十elevenH■twelve十二

这一类共计十二个单词，在结构上与其他的基数词相比较是特殊的，就像不规则的动词一

样,要求逐个的硬背下来,这对学好其他的基数词和序数词都是及其重要的.

2、第二类：

thirteen十三fourteen十四fifteen十五sixteen十六seventeen十七

eighteen十八nineteen十九

这一类基数词共有七个.它们在结构上有两个特点：一是在发音方面都有两个重音；二是

在拼法上都有后缀一teen.除了thirteen和fifteen之外，都是纯粹地在另一个基数词的后面

加上后缀一teen.但要注意eighteen的拼法,eight本身有t字母,因此只加一een.

3、第三类：twenty二十thirty三十forty四十fifty五十sixty六十

seventy七十

eighty八十ninety九十

这类基数词共有八个.都是十位的整数，均以后缀一ty结尾.其中sixty、seventy、eighty、

ninety基本上是在相应的基数词后面加上后缀一ty.但要注意eighty的拼法,eight本身有t

字母，因此只加一y.

4、第四类：

这一类很简单,可以看成是一种合成词.其结构方式是：用十位整数加上个位整数,其间用

连字符号“一”连接，表示“几十几”.这类基数词的变化都是规则的.如：

twenty-one二4-forty-six四十六

seventy-eight七十八ninety-five九十五

(4).百位数的基数词形式在百后加“hundred”，表示几百，在几十几与百位间加上

and.hundred后不力口s。

二、序数词

序数词是指表示顺序的数词。序数词是数词的一种，主要在英语语法中讲到，在汉语中

表示为“第几”。此外，在生日中，描述你出生的日期时，也用到了序数词。比如：Mayfirst

(5月1日)还有第1,first：第2,second等等都是。

1、第一类

first(1st)第一second(2nd)第二third(3rd)第三

(在括号里的是缩写形式，均在阿拉伯数字后面加上相应序数词的最后两个字母构成，以

下各类与此相同.)

这类序数词只有三个,在整个序数词里面是特殊的，就和第一类基数词一样，需要逐个地

硬记下来.

2、第二类:

fourth(4th)第四fifth(5th)第五sixth(6th)第六seventh

(7th)第七

eighth(8th)第八ninth(9th)第九tenth(10th)第十

eleventh(11th)第十一

twelfth(12th)第十二thirteenth(13th)第十三fourteenth(14th)

eighteenth(18th)第十八nineteenth(19th)第十九

这一类序数词共有十六个.均在相应的基数词后面加上后缀一th构成.要注意其中fifth.

twelfth四个词的拼法.

3、第三类：

twentieth(20th)第二十thirtieth(30th)第三十fortieth

(40th)第四十

fiftieth(50th)第五十sixtieth(60th)第六十seventieth

(70th)第七十

eightieth(80th)第八十ninetieth(90th)第九十

这一类全是十位整数的序数词,共八个.它们的构成方法是：先将相应的十位整数的基数词

词尾一ty中的y改成

i,然后在加上后缀一eth.

4、第四类：

thirty-first(31th)第三Hksixty-second(62nd)第六十二

eighty-seventh(87th)第八十七ninety-eighth(98th)第九十八

ahundredandfifty-third第^百五十三

这类表示“两位或两位以上的序数词,跟表示基数词一样简单.在构成方法上均由相应基

数词“变化而来,十位

数不变,仅把个位上的基数词变成序数词就行了.

口诀：基变序，有规律，词尾加上th,一二三特殊记，结尾字母t,d,do

th要从四加起,八去t,九去e,

五与十二同尾ve,f来把ve替。若是碰到几十几，只变个位就可以，整数词也

好记,y变ie+th。

序数词表顺序，前有定冠词the莫忘记.

序数词用法：

1.序数词在使用时，一般加上定冠词the，表示第几，

thefirstfloor第一■层thethirdday第三天

序数词加不定冠词用来表示又一，再一的意思

2.序数词的用途

a.用来表示时间(后面详细讲解时间表示法)

例如：2008年2月28日可以表示为February28th,2008

b.用来表示顺序

例如：Heisalwaysthefirsttocometoschool.他总是第一个来学校。

c.用来表示楼层

例如：Helivesonthefourthfloor.他住在四楼。

d、表示事物的编号：如：theninthpart=PartNine第九部分

e、表示年月日：“年”用基数词，”日用序数词”以下是表示月份的单词，同学们要

牢记：
