asteroidwouldcrosspathswithEarth.

Thatallowedtheteamtoestimatethefrequencyofasteroidsbiggerthan140metersacross,whichisaround

thesizeofalargeship,Nugentsays.AnasteroidofthissizewouldhitEarthroughlyevery11,000years.

However,thatnumberisstillhardtounderstand.SoNugentcomparedthechancesofanasteroidhitting

Earthwithothereventsthatpeoplemayexperienceasfollows.
