There are many places of interest, such as the Summer Palace , the Great Wall and so on. What place did you visit ? Which one is your favorite? Why do you like it? Can you tell me the reasons? ( Let students talk freely one by one )设计意图:这一步骤旨在培养学生对历史文化遗产价值的正确认识,激发学生爱国主义情感。Step2.Presentation Show the pictures of some old city walls (using the pictures of some famous film&TV cities ) T: Look, How beautiful they are! .Do you think so? S:Yes T:But now we cant see some of them.They are disappearing. Ss: Why? T:People are pulling them down. Why? Because they are making traffic heavier and the streets more crowded. People think they are useless and very dangerous. It is a pity. Write the new words on the blackboard Pull down, remain, rebuild, be worn out Explain the new words in English T:There were lots of old city walls in Beijing, but now only a few remain. What happened?设计意图:导入新课前的铺垫,让学生了解places of in terest in china 的现状,激起学生的忧患意识和保护欲。Step3 guide Listen to the tape, try to answer the following questions1. Are there many old city walls in Beijing?2. Why did people pull lots of them down?Show two teaching pictures and compare them:( one is in1930. the other is in 2003 )What differences can you find in the two pictures? (Let Ss try to speak )T:There used to be lots of old city walls in Beijing .Now there arent so many I used to be a student, but now I am a teacher. Who can tell me the usage of “used to” ? then try to make two sentences like me, OK?Ss make some sentencesT: What do you think of the old city walls? What should we do for them?Listen to the tape again , try to find out the answers设计意图:通过图形的直观比较,渗透used to 的语法教学,让学生真切地感受到used to 指过去而不是现在。Read after the tape together Show some pictures of our hometown.Say: Our hometown is very beautiful,every year many visitors come here for their holidays ,why ?Ss: Because there are many old houses and old temples here and they are very beautiful. We should protect them. They are the symbols of the histoty. If necessary, we should rebuild some of them.Because they show us how clever people are.Discuss 2b on Page94Be for: agree to/with Be against: dont agree to/withSs write their answers in the forms设计意图:这一步骤通过结合家乡实际情况计论保护文化遗产的必要性,培养学生热爱家乡的情感,并且通过正反辨论的方式有助于培养学生辨证的人生观。Practise:Show a picture of the Rongtian tower .Divide the students into two groups,let students discuss if it is necessary to protect and mend it. ( why and reasons两组学生正反辨论 )Teacher summayize their answers and teach Ss to love their hometown.Our hometown is very beautiful, isnt it ? T: This is a Tag Question, watch it carefully.tell me its structure, OK?S1: 前面是肯定句,后面是是否定句。 S2: 前面是陈述句,后面是疑问句。S3: 前面是完整的句子,后面简短的,只有两个词。设计意图:让学生自己归纳反意疑问句的特点,学生会印象更深刻。Just now ,you have told out the characters of the Tag Questions.
