山东人学硕l j 学位论文 摘要 诺思罗普弗莱是加拿大著名文艺理论家，但他的名气在上世纪五六十年代最盛， 被视为当时三大批评流派之一的原型批评的代表，后来，随着解构主义崛起，他的盛 名日渐衰退，甚至有时被视为顽固的结构主义者。本研究开始时，遇到了搜集材料的 困难，因为专门讨论他和他的文艺思想的文章不多，真正有价值的更不多见。这种状 况与他本人的博学和深度颇不相称，淹没了他思想核心中的闪光点。其实即便是在他 备受推崇时，他的名气也不是建立在他本人核心思想上。因为人们加给他的原型批评 代表的头衔其实完全与他无关，他自己也表示了对于把他归于某种他其实并不属于的 流派的不满。 对他的这种误解是由他和那些以逻辑推理为指导的文艺家的不同意识层次所导 致。前者认为真理就是生命本真的自由流露，是神圣精神的无拘无束，无所不在，而 后者则认为真理是人脑与包括社会、自然、心理的外界相统一。本研究是理解这种神 圣精神的尝试，并在此基础上全面把握弗莱的境界，阐明他的思想核心，发觉他的思 想光辉，理清他在文艺文化批评和人的生命中应该具有的影响。在结构上本文采取从 对神圣精神的描绘，到对人们遗忘神圣精神后的生活和认知状态的洞见，再到对神圣 精神进行发掘，以期重新进入的努力。该路线是在弗莱思想中渗透各个方面的纲领。 第一二章主要分析这种遗忘和遗忘后人们生活的各方面。第三四章主要分析弗莱发现 和重新进入的尝试。 第一章尊重弗莱倾向，回归具体文本，以对圣经创世故事的分析开始，追溯亚当 和夏娃初始的自由自在生命力量外溢状态以及而后的异化，分割和对生命诗性创造力 的扼杀。自由的精灵是怎样堕落，扭曲和被遗忘的借此得以分析和说明。之后，本文 将范围从一个故事延伸到中西文化中有代表性的关于堕落的故事，说明在物理实在一 维之外，人的生活还有精神实在一维，不同精神境界里同样的物理实在有不同的隐喻 力量。视精神实在为虚幻并加以排斥直至遗忘是对人生命的扼杀，其结果就是使人恐 惧，残酷，力图控制他人，控制环境，以此为自己找到可怜的安全感。这其实是尼采 所说奴隶者生命对强健生命的控制的实质。这种生命状态将限制我们的眼界，使我们 的哲思很难达到对生命应有存在方式的认识。 山东人学硕卜学位论文 第二章可以看作对此洞见的应用。知觉经验、话语、语言乃至社会，如果少了这 种精气和生命，就会成为对本真状态的恶魔式戏仿。人要寻求统一，但这种寻求来之 于精神境界的统一性。如果把它投射到物理实在中，其结果是人生活的困境，是奴役 的牢笼，是对那本应是最自由的富于想象力的生命的约束。在讨论语言的堕落时，笔 者指出了西方“严肃哲学”( 该词来自林语堂生活的艺术) 和排斥神性的西方文艺 批评的错误之源是这种无生气的语言牢笼。 第三四章是从遗忘到发现的努力。第三章是文学经验中的发现。笔者对献给艾 米莉的一朵玫瑰花作了详尽分析，指出了其中发现的意义从简单揭秘，到社会历史 再到对本真的觉悟的不同层次。随后，这种觉悟被延伸到文学整体。笔者论证了本来 似无相关的两部作品献给艾米莉的一朵玫瑰花和罗密欧与朱丽叶在这种觉悟 意义上来讲是同一个故事。圣经作为一部有意识的精神著作，其中明确道出了在 文学艺术和先知预言中，设计者不是作者，也不是读者，也不是作品，而是以荣耀自 身为己任的神圣生命和精神。第四章将发现从文学推到生活，讨论怎样通过觉悟达到 自性的光明。首先是意识到我们不属于这个死生交杂，物统治人的世界；接着是向神 圣梦想迈进；之后是意识到神圣性不在我外，而在我内，此时我们就能见到我们自己 其实是堕落的精灵；最后这种意识将引领我们回归性灵本真，有意识地欣赏天地灵气， 虽在地上，实已觉悟成“真人 。 这一过程是弗莱思想中无所不在的精神，这种从堕落到回归的形式是弗莱所有论 证的路径。他的目的在教化众人，使之从自发生命走向自觉能动的生命流溢，为本真 自我开辟道路。从这个意义上讲，弗莱不是从主观意志出发，也不是从客观事实出发， 他的言辞是从对这种神圣的内心最深处的聆听而来，是从那天地间渗透一切的隐喻性 力量而来，正是基于此，本文称他为先知。这是弗莱所有研究的纲领。结构，原型及 其它所有只是表面。本质是无所不在，点亮一切的对人文核心的洞见和感悟。 在本研究中，笔者还对弗莱思想与中国文化特别是其中的道家思想作了对比，发 现它们之间的深层相通。尤其是圣经和庄子，表面相去万里，精神实质却殊 途同归。这可以看作是笔者将发现的普遍性推越文化界限的努力。笔者也希望它能对 跨文化和跨宗教研究有所启示。 关键词：神圣精神；灵性本真；创造性生命力量；隐喻；变形；发现 山东入学硕卜学位论文 a b s t r a c t n o r t h r o pf r y ei saf a m o u sc a n a d i a nl i t e r a r yc r i t i c ，b u th i sf a m ee n j o y e di t sp e a ki n t h e5 0 sa n d6 0 s 嬲ar e p r e s e n t a t i v eo ft h em y t h -
