摘要 摘要 在人类历史发展的漫长进程中，动物一直与人类保持着密切联系，并对人类 的生存与发展产生深刻的影响。这种亲密无问的关系使得人类对动物产生了喜 爱或同情或厌恶或恐惧的错综复杂的情感，人们也常常借动物来寄托和表达人 们的情感，所以在英汉两种语言中就会出现许许多多与动物相关的词汇也就不 足为奇。这些动物词汇都是英汉两种语言词汇系统中庞大的一族。 然而，不可忽视的是，语言与文化息息相关，而作为语言中基石作用的词 汇它们都同本国的文化紧密相联。词汇反映了特定的社会文化，不同的社会背 景和文化差异造成了词汇在文化内涵上的差异。比如说，由于英汉民族思维方 式和文化背景不同，同一动物词语所承载的意义也就会出现差异，而即便是不 同的英汉动物词语，也极有可能表达相同的内涵，所以对于打上深深的文化烙 印的动物词汇的探究是极其必要而又不可或缺的。 而本文正是使用比较分析的方法，通过对英汉动物词汇及其文化内涵的四 个方面的异同来探讨：从同一动物词语代表相同的意义，同一动物词语代表不 同的意义，不同的动物词语代表相同的意义，英汉特有的动物词涵义这四个方 面来研究英汉动物词汇涵义的相同点和不同点。通过比较，人们可以更清楚地 感受到英汉文化在动物词语上留下的历史文化差异。 那么此时，我们就不禁要阀，这些内涵上的差异事如何产生的呢? 其实， 作者认为，导致这种文化内涵的差异既有历史、习俗的差异，又有价值观念和 宗教信仰方面的不同。所以诸如以上的因素才最终促使英汉两种语言呈现出不 同的特色，而这种特色更是折射出英汉两个民族各自绚丽多姿的文化形态。 文化是一个复杂的社会现象，它对人们日常生活的影响不可谓不大。人们 的言行都受到各自本民族文化的规范。然两令人懊恼的是，文化的多样性增加 了两个民族之间交流的难度。除非说话者和倾听者能够互相了解各自的文化背 景，否则即便在语言能力上完全胜任，他们也不可能有一个彻底的沟通。 捅要 在这篇文章中，作者通过对英汉两种语言的一个简单的比较，来探究英汉 动物词汇的异同，以寻求一个目标：能够完全了解一个词汇所承载的全部信息 以便在跨文化交际中毫无障碍地沟通。最后，作者对在英语学习中如何提高英 语学习者的交际能力提出些许建议。
