摘要 在“原语中心论”的长期统治和影响下，译学界对文化差异的处理原则 和方法虽然有很多，但都没有摆脱以原语文本为中心的根本，只是在以原文 的可译性和译文的可读性为出发点，来研究如何更忠实地传达原文中的文化 意义。本文通过对传统翻译理论的回顾和分析，指出了其在指导文化差异翻 译方面存在的缺陷。 接受美学为翻译研究提供了新的空间和思路。本文在简要叙述这一理论 的形成过程后，重点论述了接受美学和翻译的密切关系以及接受美学可用于 指导翻译实践中文化差异的处理的若干精义。进而本文主要运用接受美学的 主将伊瑟尔的文本理论、读者的地位和作用的观点及姚斯的期待视野的理论 对围城的英译本中处理文化差异的方法进行了分析和评判，指出虽然也 有不足之处，围城英译本对文化差异的处理从接受美学的角度看是成功 的。同时指出，在文化多元共存的大背景下，翻译应以文化交流为目的，译
