Important Points 1. Use the skimming and careful reading skills to help the students understand the passage exactly (divide the passage into different parts and get the main idea of each part).2. Teaching Procedures Step I Greetings (1min) Greet the whole class as usual.Step II Lead-in (5mins) Ask the students the questions as follows:(1) Do you like animals?(2) What is the relationship between human beings and animals? Suggested answer:We are friends.Show some animals pictures and ask the students the question: 1.Whats the problem of these animals.Suggested answers: 1) They have no enough food to eat.2) They are hunted by human beings.3) Their habitats are detroyed by human beings.2. What other animals do you know are facing the same problem? Suggested answers: Panda, tiger, zabra, North bearNowadays more and more animals are being endangered by human beings. With so many animals endangered today, as friends, we should take some actions to protect them. Lets deal with the reading part to get more information of the condition about antelope, elephant and monkey.Step III Skimming(5mins)Let the students turn to page 26 and have a quick reading. Many animals have been being killed for food, for fur or making medicine. b. The place where animals used to live has been destroyed. They dont have enough food and live alive here.c.
