Lesson 34Dannys Dinosaur Dinner 教学设计一、教材依据 本课选自冀教版九年级下册Unit 5 Culture Shapes Us .Lesson 34 Dannys Dinosaur Dinner.二、设计思路第五单元围绕世界文化这一话题展开教学。本课是本单元的第二课。课文通过讲述作为恐龙的Danny 以恐龙餐招待他的两个好朋友Jenny 和Brian 的小故事,帮助学生更多的了解恐龙的饮食文化,明白就餐时的礼仪,学会就餐时的交际用语及如何礼貌地招待客人。本课以英语新课程标准基本精神和理念为指导,努力做到使课堂教学的全过程符合英语教育教学规律,符合该学龄段学生身心特征,并将“自主学习方式、合作学习方式和任务型教学方式”三者有机结合在一起。为了突出重点,突破难点,克服学生“忌张嘴、怕动手”的困难,我主要采用了任务型教学法,借助多媒体辅助教学手段,通过谈话法、练习法、表演法等进行教学,培养学生的听、说、读、写能力。而学生有了上节课的基础及以前对就餐礼仪的了解和交际用语的积累,善于抓住用英语交际的机会,充分感知、积极体验,大胆实践,团结协作。通过“个人小组全班”活动进行快乐地学习。三、Teaching aims:1、Language goals:(1)Words and expressionsknock knock on/athang hang upoffer offer sb. sth.=offer sth. to sb. offer to do sth.(2)Key sentencesWould you like something to eat/drink?Do you have anything else? Im very glad to meet you again. Can you show me you smile? Can you say hello to me with your smile? Ok, I want to know if you like making friends. Do you like making friends?Ss: Yes.T: I want to make friends with you. Do you agree with me?Ss: Yes.T: If I come to your home some day. What will you do for me?S1: I will say hello to you.S2: I will get some fruits for you.S3: I will make tea and a delicious meal for you.S4: Ill have a party for you. So we can sing and dance together.T: Last lesson Danny invited Jenny and Brian to his house for a dinner. Can you guess what Danny will serve Jenny and Brian?(Let some Ss present their ideas to the class .Maybe they can say donuts and pizza. The teacher wont explain) T: Ok, Today please follow me to Dannys home and have a look.(Show the topic to the class)(老师以学生喜欢的话题设置情境,让学生各抒己见。学生兴趣浓、愿参与。并由此活动自然地引出本课,导入巧妙。)Step 2 Listening In this step, ask the Ss to close their books and listen to the tape carefully. Then fill in the blanks with the correct words they hear.Show the exercises on the PowerPoint.1、When Jenny and Brian come to Dannys home ,he is in the kitchen.2、Danny gives Brian and Jenny some grass to eat, Some dirty water to drink and some leaves for dessert .(此听力活动的设计,有助于学生初步把握课文大意。)Step 3 Speaking and words studyIn this step, Show some pictures on the PowerPoint.The teacher talks about them with the Ss like this: 1 2 3Picture 1T: Look! Whats the boy doing now?Ss: He is knocking on the door.T: Ok, Please look at me. What am I doing now?S1: Youre knocking on the desk.S2: Youre knocking on the blackboard.(Teach the word “knock” by doing something about it, Let the Ss know the meaning of the phrase “knock on /at)Picture 2T: Where are the clothes? Oh, Theyre hung up on the shelf .(Show the word “hang”, Ask the Ss to try to read it and then read it after the tape .Let the Ss make sentences with the phrase “hang up”) Then explain the other meaning of “hang”eg: The bad man was hanged at last .Show the screen:hang-hung-hung(悬挂)hang-hanged-hanged (绞死)Picture 3T: Look! Whats Danny doing?Ss: He is giving some food to Jenny and Brian.T: Well, Today well learn a new word has the same meaning as “give”. Whats it?Ss: Its “offer”.T: So we can say Danny is offering some food to Jenny and Brian.Ss: Or Danny is offering them some food.T: Well done. Please make sentences with phrases: offer sb. sth. / offer sth. to sb.Then show the phrase “offer to do sth. Have the Ss understand and use it correctly. (通过与学生谈论图片而学习单词,这种“词不离句”、直观形象的学习方式,更易被学生理解、接受。)Step 4 Reading taskHave the Ss read the text together and underline the sentences they dont understand .Then show the sentences on the screen and deal with the language points. Ask the Ss to make sentences with useful phrases:1、Would you like to 2、Help yourself to 3、Pardon ?4、Do you have anything else ?eg: S1: Would you like some dumplings ? S2: Yes, Id love to. S3: Would you like to have an apple? S4: No, thanks.(通过朗读课文,让学生寻找不理解的句子,老师帮助解决。这就培养了学生发现问题、探究问题的能力,比老师直接灌输效果好。)Step 5 Reading again and discussing Ask three Ss to take one of three roles (Danny, Jenny and Brian) to read the dialogue .Then let them discuss the following questions in their small groups and one of them make a report in front of the class. Show the following questions on the screen:Do Jenny and Brian like Dannys food?How do they feel at Dannys house?Do they feel comfortable? Why?(通过分角色朗读,使学生再次感知、体验故事情节,进而对故事进行讨论,发表看法。这不仅训练了学生的口语,也培养了他们的创新能力。) Step 6Writing and actinggroup work. In small groups, let the Ss talk about how guests are treated in their houses. Then ask them to make up a dialogue and act it out in front of class.The teacher can give some objects(apples , a cup of tea) to the Ss and help them .(通过写并且表演对话,是对“就餐礼仪”及“就餐用语”的综合运用。此“实战演习”融写作、口语交际和表演为一体。最大限度地培养了学生的团结合作能力。)Step 7 sum-up and homework.T: Good friends are important for us. Our parents are important, too. Because they give us beautiful clothes, delicious food, a warm family and so on. So we should thank them and treat them well.Ok, Please write a passage“How to treat your parents ?” after this class.(此作业的设计一是对课文的拓展;二是教育学生要礼貌待人,要学会感恩。)Step 8 SongT: Boys and girls, Please treat everyone around you politely.
