Teaching ideas:Idea1: The students communicate with each other and finish 1a and master the main words.Idea2: Listening: Task-based Teaching Method. Learn the sentences: -Lets see the pandas first.-Theyre my favorite animals.-Why do you want to see them?-Because theyre interesting.Teaching Methods:Audio-visual Teaching Method.The Situation Teaching Method.Communicative Teaching Method.Teaching Aids: CAITeaching Procedures:Step 1Warm-up and lead in T:Listen and sing the song Animals in the zoo. What animals do you know in the song? Ss: Tiger, elephant, giraffe, panda T:OK,lets go to the zoo and see the animals.Step 2 Presentation1.T:Look at the pictures on the screen. What are they? Can you spell them?S1:P-A-N-D-A, panda.T: Read after me. P-A-N-D-A, panda.Learn the new words . tiger, elephant, koala, lion, giraffe. Read in groups. The group leaders help the students who needs help. Then have a dication .Memory storm.2.Lets chat:Animal, anima l, I like Animal.Panda, panda, I like panda. Koala, Koala, I like Koala.Lion , lion, I like lion.Tiger, tiger, I like tiger.Elephant, elephant, I like elephant. Giraffe, giraffe, I like giraffe.Dolphin, dolphin, I like dolphin.Penguin, penguin, I like penguin.3.Challenge:Guess: Which animal is it?4. Look at the picture in 1a and match the words. Check the answers by the group leader.Step 3 .Practice1.T:There are many animals in the zoo. What animals do you want to see? Why?Look at the picture. Why do you like giraffe?S1:Because they are cute and friendly.S2: Because they are fun and beautiful.T: Youre right. Lets look at the other pictures. Can you ask and answer in pairs.Ss: OK. 2.Have a competition. Ask and answer in pairs. Choose some pairs to present their conversations. The winners can get a star for their group.Step 4. Listening Read the animal words before listening.Play the tape first, the students only listen, play the tape again. Listen and check the animals in 1a you hear. Check the answers in groups by the group leaders. Step 5 Talent showShow time please .Try to use the sentences:-Lets see the pandas first.-Theyre my favorite animals.-Why do you want to see them?-Because theyre interesting.Write the answers down, then report like this: I want to see the first because theyre.Bob wants to see the first, because theyre.The more students say, the more stars you will get.Step 6 Summary and do the exercises.Let the students discuss in groups, sum up the language points and finish the exercises.The teacher explains if necessary.
