Greys Anatomy Season 9x23 Readiness is AllGreys Anatomy Episode ScriptsSeason 99x23: Readiness is AllOriginal Airdate: 5/9/2013Written by: William HarperDirected by: Tony PhelanMeredith VO: They hit you out of nowhere.Alex: What happened?Jo: We were arguing. He kept saying that he couldnt trust me anymore, that I was a liar, that I-that I lied about who I was.Alex: He hit you? Jo: God, it just got so bad.Meredith VO: When bad things come, they come suddenly, without warning.Jo: I dont know whats gonna happen now.Alex: Nothings gonna happen. Youre safe. All right? Youre safe here. You just need to get some sleep. All right? Just try and sleep. If you need anything-Ill have my cell.Jo: Where are you going? Meredith VO: We rarely get to see the catastrophe coming. Jo: Alex, what are you gonna do?! Owen: Make sure thats covered, and make sureMeredith VO: No matter how well we try to prepare for it.April: What is all this? Owen: Weather reports say a massive storm is coming. Hurricane force winds and heavy rain. They say its three days out.April: So we have time to prepare, then.Owen: Exactly. So for the E.R., were gonna need to overstock supplies and blood products. Lets get ready for double capacity intakes. That means extra beds and gurneys in the hallways. This storm will bring in a lot of casualities. Were gonna need to make room for them, so lets discharge all patients that can be. Post-op and long-term patients are gonna be transferred to Seattle Pres. further inland. Were gonna bring in supplementals water, food, meds, lighting. Uh, were gonna be checking and refueling the backup generators. As for you surgeons, push, postpone, or cancel all elective procedures until after this storm.Meredith: So were canceling surgeries now? Derek: Well, you can afford to slow down a little bit.Meredith: Im pregnant. Im not sick.Derek: Youre very pregnant. Youre three weeks away from your due date.Alex: Shepherd.Derek: Yeah.Alex: I need your help. Come with me.Owen: There will be a list of available surgeonsCallie: So youve got your craniofacial baby. Are you gonna postpone? Arizona: No, he said elective. The kids got his brain on his face.Callie: Dont snap. I was just wondering if maybeArizona: Well, we have three days.Owen: Most importantly, were gonna need to print hard copies of all computerized patient charts in case of a power loss.Jackson: All of them? Do we have time toBailey: Ill do that.Owen: Bailey, its good to have you back. Ill put you on the O.R. rotation.Bailey: Uh, I mean Ill do the charts.Owen: Folks, theyre saying that this is going to be a bad one, but we have three days to prepare. So lets do it and be ready when the storm hits. Thank you.Webber: Hows she doing? Ben: She feels like she cant go into an O.R. She thinks shell kill anyone she touches. I-I tried to convince her to come down to L.A. with me, take some time off, but then we heard about the storm, and she said she had to stay and help.Webber: Anything I can do? Ben: I wish there was, but honestlyWebber: Anyone but me. I know.Alex: I brought him in a few hours ago. He had a C.T. I wanted to wait for you. You gotta help him. Its Chest Peckwell. I mean, Jason Myers.Lauren: So between removing the encephalocele and closing up the facial cleft. It is gonna take most of the day. You guys have any questions? Tylers dad: Uh, n-no. I guess not. No.Arizona: I would tell you not to worry, but thats a load of crap. Youll worry. But if it helps, Im not worried a bit.Tylers mom: It does help. A lot. Thank you.Lauren: So you knew exactly what to say to her. Is that a mom thing? Arizona: Oh. The Internet told you I was a mom, too, huh? Lauren: Oh, God. Okay, all right. Apparently, Im super creepy cause I know everything about you.Arizona: Well, Im creepy, too, because the Internet told me that you studied with Bud Clement, and I did a year under him at Hopkins.Lauren: Bud? I mean, hes a genius.Arizona: Yeah.Lauren: But, oh, my GodArizona: His breath.Lauren: His breath is so bad.Arizona: Something died in him.Lauren: It did.Arizona: Mm-hmm.Lauren: All right. Well, this changes everything. I mean, if you studied under Clement, then Ill have you do the calvarial graft and Ill just focus on the bipartition. Cool?Arizona: Really? Yay.Lauren: Yeah, yay. Do you want to go get coffee before we start this? Arizona: Um-uh, y-uh, yeah. You know, I have to get some stuff done.Lauren: Mm.Arizona: So I will, um, Ill meet you-Ill meet you up there.Lauren: Okay. I mean, youre probably just gonna go cyber stalk me some more, huh? Arizona: I might be.Lauren: Creepy.Ethan: I understand it. If my dad doesnt wake up, I go live with strangers.Owen: Hey, hey, hey, not strangers. A foster family. People who want to take care of you and are more-more prepared to do that than your grandma is right now.Ethan: Will they play soccer? Owen: I hope so.Ethan: What if they dont? What if theyre like the people from Harry Potter? Like, gross, mean, and scary?Owen: They-they wont be, all right? I promise.Ethan: But if my dad wakes up, I could stay with him, right? Owen: Yeah, if he wakes up.Nancy: Ethan, honey. Oh, eat your yogurt.Owen: Okay. Well, Ill see you, all right? And dont worry. Okay. Page me if anything changes.Cristina: Owen. Nancy and I had a conversation about withdrawal of care. I did not bring it up. She did. She wanted to know what the chances are after nine daysOwen: It is way too soon to talk about pulling the plug.Cristina: And I told her since hes gone eight days without improvement, the neurological deficits are more likely permanent.Owen: Of course you did.Cristina: I wasnt gonna lie, Owen. She doesnt want to put her son through any more, or herOwen: Its too soon.Cristina: Get another head C.T., a C.B.C., and a chem panel.Stephanie: We just drew blood this morning.Cristina: I know. Do it again.Owen: Oh, hey. Hey.Meredith: Hey.Owen: Can I ask you something? Meredith: S-yeah.Owen: When you and Derek adopted Zola, how did you know? I mean, how did you really know that that was something you were gonna do? Meredith: Why? Are you thinkingOwen: Yeah, forget it. Just forget it.April: Clear the hallways for cots. People will come looking for shelter.Leah: How bad is this supposed to be? April: Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, right? What do we got? Paramedic: 39-year-old construction worker. Wind blew him off a building. Fell four stories to impale himself on three bars of standing rebar. Vitals are stable. Minimal blood loss on the scene. Maintaining airway.April: Okay. Lets go.Leah: Let his name be Bob. Please let his name be Bob.April: Why? Leah: Shishka-Bob.Leon: My names Leon.Paramedic: The patients awake and responsive.Leah: Oh, my God. Im so sorry.Leon: Its bad, huh? This is really bad? Am I gonna die? April: The fact that were talking right now, Leon, means its not as bad as it could be.Leon: I guess so. If these bars hadnt caught me, Id be a stain on the pavement right now.April: Thats the attitude, Leon. Just keep that up, okay? Lets get him to the O.R. and well take X-rays there. Page Grey and Torres.Owen: Kepner, Kepner.April: What? Owen: Ill take this.April: Why? Why? I caught it.Owen: Its a big case, and I need you onApril: Yes, it is a big case. Its my big case. Hey, I-I am about to take my oral boards again, and this is exactly the kind of case that I want them to see that I can handle because I am going to crush them this year.Owen: I need you on storm prep.April: And you once told me that I should stop being an administrator and start being a surgeon. And thats my human shishka-Bob.Owen: Okay. All right. I hear you. Go.April: Thank you.Owen: Now I will check in on you. If things get hairy, Im tagging you out.April: You wont have to! Loudspeaker: Nurse Cano to E.R. Nurse Sandy Cano to E.R.Heather: What happened? Alex: What does it look like?Derek: Brooks, what do you see?Heather: Like, someone super messed him up.Derek: Talk like a doctor.Heather: Um, temporal bone fracture with an epidural hemorrhage.Derek: How soon does the bleed need to be evacuated? Heather: Like, yesterday.Derek: Yeah, book an O.R. Lets get him up there. Karev, what the hell happened? Who did this? Alex: Make sure he doesnt die. You cant let him die, okay? April: This ones sitting right next to the carotid, but it doesnt seem to have damaged it.Meredith: This ones in the right upper quadrant. And according to the ultrasound it might have missed the liver.Callie: The ultrasound on this one showed the femoral artery is intact, for now.Meredith: These bars are rough metal. When we take them out, we risk shredding the vessels. He could bleed out.Knox: Doctors, hes starting to lose his airway. I need to intubate.April: Okay, I want to cut down the protruding bars as close as possible to minimize the damage when we pull them out.Leah: Bone cutter? Callie: Maybe. Uh, doubtful.Leah: Nope.Leon: 1/2-inch rebar. Youre gonna want a 4-1/2-inch angle grinder with a cutoff wheel.Callie: Thank you, Leon.Leon: No worries.Callie: Okay, run. Do not walk.Stephanie: Chest Peckwell? Jos Chest Peckwell? Heather: Karev brought him in beat to hell. He has a brain bleed.Stephanie: Karev brought him in?Heather: Yeah. I think that hesStephanie: Mnh-mnh.Leah: Hey! Hey! Do you have a 4-1/2-inch angle grinder with a cutoff wheel?Shane: Dr. Bailey, Im thrilled that youre back and honored that you requested me. Im very excited to be in your O.R. So what are we doing? Bailey: Press print, go to the printer, take the chart, collate it, repeat.Shane: Were doing this, then? Bailey: You need me to go over it again? Owen: But Bailey tested negative for staph.Ben: And she knows that, but she doesnt feel it.Leah: This way. This way.Owen: Murphy. Murphy. Where are you going with that? Leah: O.R. one. Kepner needs to cut the excess rebar off of shiska-bob Leon.Owen: All right.Leah: Come on.Worker: Hey! Owen: Where were we, uh-oh, yeah, Bailey.Ben: Right. Uh, yeah, I just think that she needs to-Um, are you thinking what Im thinking? Owen: Yeah.Ben: Yeah.Owen: Stop! Stop! Stop! Ben: Shut it off! Shut it off! Owen: You cant grind metal.Ben: The room is full of oxygen.Owen: The grinders gonna give off sparks.Ben: Youll blow up the room.April: Oh, God. Okay.Callie: Yeah, good call.Meredith: Ive, uh, been through something like this before.Ben: And howd that work out? Meredith: Not great.Arizona: Oh, youre early.Lauren: So are you.Arizona: Well, I kind of like to oversee the prep.Lauren: Me, too. Feel free to join me, cause clearly, youre a control freak.Arizona: Well, nothing wrong with that since clearly, youre a bigger one.Lauren: Its exhausting, isnt it? Arizona: God, yes. Im surprised youre letting me do any of the reconstruction.Lauren: I figure, the more people know how to do this, the safer for kids everywhere. Its kind of my way of controlling the world. And this way, you have something to remember me by.Arizona: Well, every time I tuck a babys brain back into his skull, I will thinkLauren: You are gonna think of me. Thats the idea.Jackson: Here we go, right? Arizona: Here we go.April: The metals lang on two major vessels. Theyll shred if we try and pull the entire bar through.Owen: Youre right. But Im damned if I know how to do it, though.Leah: Can we take out the oxygen tanks? Ben: Well, the tanks, yes, but there are O-2 outputs in the floor, there and there. I say we take him down to a patient room, do it there.Knox: Hes already under anesthesia, and hes too unstable to move.Ben: All right, all right. How about this? Get all additional oxygen tanks out. I manually hyperventilate him, get him on 100% O-2, and then I shut off the vent. You cut. When he runs out of air, you stop, I hyperventilate him again.Meredith: Thatll take forever.Owen: And its still risky, but-its our best shot. All right. Just give me the grinder, and you can go.Ben: All right, Knox, you can go, too. I got this.Owen: This is dangerous work, people. So everybody out.Callie: Ill stay. Youll need someone to hold the bar steady while you cut.April: And youll need me to irrigate the metal. The grinder will heat up and could burn through the vessels.Owen: Thats-very good thinking.Meredith: There may be liver damage.Owen: No, Grey, not you. You go.Meredith: Because Im pregnant? She has a kid.Ben: She didnt bring hers to the O.R. with her today.Callie: Hes got a point, Grey. You should go.Owen: Grey. Go. Thats an order. Okay, lets gown up and wet down these drapes.Derek: Hey, whats going on? Why am I being kicked out of my O.R.? Meredith: Owen Hunt just kicked me out of my O.R. for being pregnant.Derek: He what?Doctor: Excuse us.Meredith: Well, there was a chance that it could explode, and its-it is incredibly dangerous.Derek: Oh, well, Im on board with that, then. Check with Karev. He brought in a friend with a brain bleed. Guy was beaten half to death. Jason Myers from O.B.Meredith: Its not his friend.Cristina: These are todays scans? Stephanie: With smaller cuts, like you asked.Cristina: Wait. What is that? Meredith: We have a problem.Cristina: Mer, check out this hyperdensity. Is that something or just noise on the film? Meredith: That looks real to me. Its Alex.Cristina: Get a C.T. angio and find me. I want to look at those vessels.Ben: All right. Ill hyperventilate him. When we get to 100%, Ill say go, you cut. We watch his sats drop to 90%. Below 90%, there could be tissue damage, even brain damage, so at 90%, Ill say stop and Ill pump him up again.Owen: You ready?April: Ready.Callie: Ready.Owen: And if anybody sees any sparks, then run like hell, understood? Callie: Yeah. Okay.April: Okay.Ben: Go.April: Oh, my God. Ben: Whoa! Whoa! Sparks!Owen: Everybody okay? Everybody all right? Torres? Callie: Fine. Yep. Lets do this.Owen: Okay, Kepner, if youre someone who still prays, maybeApril: Dear lord, please be with us right now. Help us save this man, help us save Leon. In your name, we pray. Amen.Ben: And-go.Owen: Lets move to the abdomen.Callie: Okay.Ben: All right. Go.April: Oh, sparks! Sparks! Oh! Oh, my-Oh! Oh! Ben, look! Oh, God! Oh, God! Oh, God! Ben: No, were good. Were good. Were good. Go. Go, go. Okay.Derek: Oh, damn it. The C.S.F. is leaking. This is worse than I thought. The crack has torn the dura.Heather: Its pretty grody.Derek: Grody is not a thing we say. List the possible complications.Heather: Um, death, thats pretty solid. Strokes, re-clots, being a potato, goofiness, loopiness, simpletonism.Derek: Brooks.Heather: Difficulty with speech, memory, and vision. Why are you making me talk so much today? Derek: Because youre weird, and it bugs me. But you also have a natural talent for this. And the weirdness is there because youre covering up a real lack of confidence in your natural talent. So now it is my job to make you feel confident and less weird. Okay? Heather: Whatever twists your knickers.Cristina: I said fight the guy. I didnt mean fight the guy.Meredith: Alex, this kind of stuff was okay when we first met you, but now?Cristina: Now youre supposed to be less stupid. I mean, you could go to jail, your whole careerAlex: Look, Im not going to jail. He was like that when I found him.Meredith: Thats your story?Cristina: No cop is gonna believe you.Meredith: Alex, its us. Just tell us.Alex: I didnt do anything.Jo: He didnt do it. He just found him. I did it.Ben: 93. 92. 91.April: Oh. Oh, God. This is taking too long. Weve have to get into the abdomen.Ben: 90. Hunt.Owen: Almost there. Almost there. Go! April: Stop! No! No! No! Cant turn it on!Owen: Dont turn it on! Cover the body! Cover the body! April: Fire! Ben: 88. Hes getting hypoxic. Owen: I got this.April: Ohh. Okay, okay. Okay, go.Callie: God, good catch, Kepner.Owen: Okay, all the bars are cut. Lets see what weve got.April: Oh, God.Owen: Torres, you go scrub. Kepner, go back to the E.R.April: What? Owen: I need you prepping for the storm.April: Wh-no, no, no, no. You need another surgeon for when we pull the rod out of his abdomen.Owen: Right, were gonna be working on his neck so we have some time. Send in Grey or whoevers available.Webber: Kepner. Ive got it. Ill find someone.April: Chief, he is my patient. I have made every single right call since he came in here. And what, you want me to stock shelves like some grocery clerk? Owen: I need you there more than I need you here. Kepner, Im not gonna ask you again. Go now!Callie: Nice.Owen: Mm.Lauren: Im gonna mark where Im making my cuts, Arizona. Then you will mark a 2x3-centimeter piece of the parietal for the graft. Dr. Avery, Dr. Robbins is gonna do the calvarial graft, and then I thought I would walk you through the reconstruction of the nose and the lip.Jackson: Oh, Im fine to watch the master at work today.Arizona: Come on, Boswell. It sounds like youre trying to get us to do all the work.Lauren: Sounds to me like Avery is chicken.Jackson: Not what I said. You came out all this way.Arizona: Well, he can run a hospital, but hes still a baby surgeon.Lauren: Youre one of the Grey Sloan seven? Jackson: Is that a thing? Lauren: Yes, thats a thing. You guys are legend. You bought the hospital, saved the staff.Arizona: Well, you know us control freaks. We try to run everything.Lauren: It was brave. I couldnt have done it. And Im so impressed. And you, sir, are doing this reconstruction, okay?Jackson: Okay.Lauren: Okay. Arizona, are you ready to mark your graft?Arizona: Yeah. Yeah, let me in.Lauren: All right. Come right over here next to me.Bailey: Here, go through these again and just make sure theyre in order.Shane: Dr. Bailey, is there a reason you chose me to do this?Bailey: Because youre an intern.Shane: A surgical intern, at a hospital, not a kinkos. Just-since Dr. Shepherd kicked me off his service, I worry that everyone thinks Im a losing bet. And if thats what people thinkBailey: Do you want to be responsible for killing a patient, Ross? If the power goes out and we lose access to a patients electronic files and we reach for her chart in this pile and its not there, what will happen? Shane: Well, thats pretty hypotheticalBailey: The patient would die, Ross, and it would be your fault. And how would you feel?Shane: IBailey: How would you feel? Webber: Uh, Bailey. Hunt needs another hand in the O.R. asked for you to scrub in.Bailey: Uh, tell him I cant. Storms coming. This needs to get done.Webber: Bailey.Bailey: Im in the middle of the backup charts. If I stop, Ill lose the order. He needs to get someone else.Shane: Ill go.Webber: Ill do it myself.Shane: Of course you will.Jo: We were having a fight. He-he grabbed my arm. I fought him off. It just-it got ugly. He fell backwards and he hit his head on the fireplace, but he was still yelling when I left. He was fine. I swear.Alex: All right, you gotta go. Go.Cristina: Uh, no, she has to explain to them what happened.Alex: No, nobody does anything until we see how Peckwell is. Look, go home. Dont let anyone see you. You two dont say a word to anybody until we know exactly whats going on. Understand? Stephanie: Hey. Are you okay? Cristina: Shes okay. You never saw her. What? Stephanie: I have Paul Dawsons C.T. angio results.Cristina: Great.Alex: Go.Meredith: Dont do anything stupid.Cristina: Oh, is that Chest Peckwell? H-how is he? Derek: Oh, a bad bleed. We wont know more until he wakes. What the hell happened?Cristina: I dont know. Um, I need your help.Derek: People keep saying that to me today.Cristina: I found that on Paul Dawsons scan. Could that be a clot that we missed?Derek: Yeah, thats exactly what it is. Its blocking blood flow to the basilar artery. Brooks-Why would we miss that? Cristina: Oh, Im not asking her. Heather: Yeah, shes-shes asking you.Derek: And Im asking you.Heather: Because its a thrombusDerek: Mm.Heather: Which is harder to see. Its more common to find a bleed or an infarct. You were looking for the wrong thing.Derek: Nice job.Cristina: Could you take it out, like now? Run a pipeline stent and restore the blood flow to the basilar? I mean, could that wake him up?Derek: It could. It could also kill him. Does the family want to take that risk? Nancy: But, um, you-you said that yesterday. You said it-it was our last chance.Cristina: This is-a long shot.Nancy: Oh. Well, what does Dr. Hunt say? Cristina: Dr. Hunt is in surgery, and Paul is my patient. And its your decision. Nancy, every second counts now.Nancy: Well, if theres a chance thatCristina: Okay. Okay.Loudspeaker: Dr. Mahoney to the E.R. Dr. Mahoney to the E.R.Heather: Wocka, wocka, wocka, wocka, wocka, wocka, wocka, wocka, wocka, wocka, wocka, wocka, wockaDerek: What are you doing? Heather: Sorry. Its Pac-Man. Because it looks like pac-man.Derek: Now what do we need to watch out for? Heather: Mm. Dislodging the clot.Derek: Mm-hmm.Heather: Jamming the stent, orDerek: Oh, damn it. The basilar wall is dissecting. Its just too weak.Heather: If you dont place the stent, it could rupture, right? Derek: Yeah. If we place it too fast.Heather: You risk ripping the artery in half.Derek: Either way, hesHeather: Hes dead.Derek: Good. Yeah. Just be quiet.Loudspeaker: Dr. Kent to neonatal I.C.U. Dr. Kent to neonatal I.C.U.Meredith: Hey, Wilson.Jo: Im going, I swear. I just had to grab some clothes. Look-Im sorry. I didnt mean to hurt Jason. I was just trying to get away from him. And I lost it. I just lost it.Meredith: I like you. But I love Alex. I dont know if hes dumb enough or loyal enough to take the fall for you, but he just might be.Jo: Id never let him do that. I wouldnt.Meredith: Okay. Hey. Are they done with that in the O.R.? Worker: Yeah, they were done a while ago.Meredith: Then why arent I back up there? Worker: Uh, I-I dont know.Meredith: Help. Help me. Okay. Okay. Okay.Derek: Dissecting is stopped. Stent is in place. Good. Any leaks? Heather: Im-not sure.Derek: Yes or no, Brooks. Confidence.Heather: No, sir. No leaks.Derek: Good.Ruth: Dr. Shepherd, you have a message.Derek: Yeah, not now. Ruth: Its from Dr. Grey. She took a fall on the stairs. She says shes okay, but shes going to O.B. to get checked.Heather: I can finish. You should go.Derek: No, you cant.Heather: Youre done. Hard parts over. Ill-just, uh, retract the sheath, hold pressure on the femoral arteriotomy, done. I can do it. Go.Derek: Okay. Here.Cristina: What? Oh! Oh, no! Oh, no. No, Mousey. Mousey, no. No, dont touch her. Mousey, no! Owen: Bailey just said no? Webber: Mm-hmm. Might be cause it was me who asked her.Ben: No, Im telling you, shes just a little shaken up. She needs a break.Owen: You know, Christina went through something similar, so I get it. How about you pull out the bar, and Ill jump in and catch the bleeders? Webber: Got it.Owen: Torres, a hand here.Callie: Hmm? Yep. Okay. You know it was the same with Arizona. You cant rush her back to work.Webber: Mm, that might be true-for them. Forgive me, Ben, but with someone like Bailey-sometimes you just need to rip off the band-aid. Here we go. Okay.Lets go.Callie: Yeah. Gotcha.Lauren: That is a handsome face.Arizona: Mm, very handsome.Lauren: I couldnt have done it any better myself.Jackson: Well, I wouldnt have done it at all. Thank you. This was incredible.Lauren: Oh, it was my pleasure. Now my downfall as a surgeon is a very tiny bladder, so you guys have this. Ill see you in just a second.Jackson: She is just one of those people, isnt she? Arizona: What? What do you mean? Jackson: One of those people that just make you feel like youre capable of anything. Sloan was like that. He just sort of took for granted that you were great-so that youd be great. I wish she could stick around a little longer. I just-I have not felt like this in a long time.Arizona: Yeah.Connie: The babys fine.Meredith: Define fine. Derek: And feel free to talk like a doctor.Connie: Fine means zero sign of placental abruption or any injury to the fetus. No bleeding, no uterine rupture. His heart beats great. No distress. Everything is where it should be. You are incredibly lucky. Are you in any pain? Meredith: No. Uh, just-just sore.Connie: If you start to feel any pain at all, you know where I am.Derek: Thank you, Connie. See, I told you, you need to slow down.Meredith: You know how we could have avoided this? If Id been safely in that exploding O.R., where I should have been.Derek: Put your pants on.Jackson: Hey. I just closed a midline facial cleft. Primary surgeon. What is wrong? April: I dont know. Hunt is actively keeping me from surgeries. I dont know if he thinks that Im gonna fail my boards again, or maybe hes just finally realized that Id make a better secretary than a surgeon.Jackson: So Ill talk to him.April: No. Dont. Dont. I dont-I dont want you to fight for me.Nurse: Dr. Kepner, traumas coming in.April: Great. Something else I can get kicked off of.Alex: Did they run a C.B.C.and A.K.B. stain? Meredith: Yes, they ran all the tests. The baby is fine.Cristina: Yeah, well, what about you? I mean, why did you fall? Are you dizzy?Meredith: I fell because I have the same center of gravity as a Jersey cow. Im fine, guys.Nurse: Doctors, its time. Its happening.Doctors: Come on. Come on. Hurry. Before it starts.April: What do we got? Nicole: A 48-year-old male complaining of tightness in his chest. He says he feels like his heart is gonna burst.April: All right, sir, were gonna take care of you, okay? Is he seizing? Was there a head injury involved? Uh, what is that music? Um, sir, no.Man: Ohh. Ohh.April: Um, you probably dont wanna get off of that if you dont-Nicole, what are you doing? What is-what are you doing? Nikki? What are you-what are you doing? Oh, hi. Scott? Wait? What? Cristina: What is going on? April: Melissa! Im-Oh, Matthew! Oh, my God! Theyre everywhere. Aah! Oh, God! Its so high! Oh! Oh, sorry.Alex: Whod have thought Kepner wouldve found somebody as dorky as she is?Meredith: He is like the male Kepner. What are the odds? Doctor: All right, April! April: Oh, my God.Matthew: Uh, April, I know that this seems crazyApril: This is totally crazy.Matthew: What? And to some, sudden. But when I know something, I know it. When I first saw you standing in this doorway I felt a shock. And, uh, and I thought-this is the most beautiful person that Ive ever seen. And then I thought yeah, well, no, I-I knew that I was gonna fall in love with you.April: Oh, God.Matthew: And I have never been so happy knowing anything in my entire life.April: Oh, my Oh, my God! Oh, my God! Matthew: April Kepner. I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life trying to make you as happy as you make me.April: Oh, my God.Matthew: If youll let me. Will you marry me? April: Yes. Yes.Woman: It was beautiful! Man: Way to go, Matthew! Woman: Many happy years! Man: All right, Matthew! Alex: How does Kepner get that? How does that happen? And I get crazy, I get cancer, and now I got a psychopathic maniac. Screw it. I give up. Im walking away.Meredith: Alex, what were you gonna do if you got to Peckwells house first? Were you gonna have coffee and talk it out? I mean, tell me he wouldnt have been worse off had you gotten there first. People change, but they dont change. Maybe Jos crazy fits your crazy. Dont give up on her just yet. We didnt give up on you.Heather: Chest Peckwell is awake.Alex: How is he? Heather: Hes fine. But hes-hes asking for the police.Cristina: I thought this storm was coming in three days.Derek: You know weather guys. Theyre wrong most of the time, and they still keep their jobs.Cristina: How do you feel, honestly? Derek: Honestly? Id feel better if the wall hadnt dissected. Im afraid its done more harm than good.Cristina: Derek. How did I miss this clot? Derek: You didnt, or itd still be in there. Youve done everything you can.Cristina: Then why isnt he awake? Tylers mom: He looks beautiful.Lauren: Yeah, and when hes 6 feet tall and has a full head of hair, all of this is gonna recede to just a tiny, little scar on his forehead.
