作定语的现在分词所表示的动作发生的时间有两种情况:
a.表示正在进行的动作

b.表示一般性的动作或状态

song.4.作状语现在分词短语在句子中可作状语,来修饰谓语动词或整个句子,表示动作发生的时间、原因、条件、结果、让步或伴随等情况。现在分词短语作状语一般表示一个次要的动作,一般都可以变为相应的状语从句或并列句。①表示伴随情况/结果Thechildrenranoutoftheroom,laughingandtalkingmerrily.Theystoodthereforanhourwatchingthegame.Herhusbanddiedin1942,leavingherwithfivechildren.Thebuswasheldupbysnowstorm,thuscausingthedelay.
②表示方式或手段

Beingsopoorinthosedays,wecouldn’taffordtosendtheboytohospital.注:如果分词表示的动作在谓语所表示的动作之前发生,则要用完成形式.
