Integration

Differentpoliciesaffectintegrationinseveralways,facilitatingorhinderingimmigrants’abilitytobuildsuccessful,fulfillinglivesintheirnewcommunities.Forinstance,policiescanincreaseresentmentorchangeimmigrants’willingnesstoengagewiththehostsociety.Inturn,policiescan

Whereopportunitiesforemploymentandimmigrantintegrationexist,anotherchallengeisthedivisionbetweenundocumentedimmigrantsandnewcomerswhomayfacedifferentbarrierstointegration.Whilenewcomersmayhaveaccesstosupportservicesandresources,undocumentedimmigrantsoftenliveintheshadows,facinglimitedopportunitiesforintegrationandsocialinclusion.Researchontheexperiencesandneedsofundocumentedimmigrantscouldhelpinformpoliciesaimedatpromotinginclusiveintegrationstrategiesthataddresstheneedsofallimmigrantpopulations.

Thoughthe

Lastly,moreresearchisneededtobettergraspwhichpoliciesaffectthebehaviorandattitudesofhostcommunitiestowardimmigrants,eitherdirectlyorindirectly,andwhy.Previousstudieshave
