摘要 语言中的模糊现象很早就引起哲学家和语言学家的注意，但是对这种现象进 行系统和专门的研究始于札德( z a d e h ) 提出模糊集合论( f u z z ys e t s ) 之后。由 此，模糊语言学作为- - i 1 跨领域的边缘学科引起了国内外专家学者的广泛兴趣， 他们从不同角度针对语言中的模糊现象进行了探讨和研究。迄今为止，多数国内 外专家和学者的研究是从语义的层面来阐述语言中的模糊现象，也有从语用的角 度来研究的。在解释语言中模糊现象产生的原因时，观点不一：有人认为，语言 符号意义的模糊性来源于事物的模糊性；有人认为，语义的模糊性在于认识的局 限性；有人认为，模糊性是语言符号的属性；还有人总结以上三种观点提出，语 言的模糊性是这三个要素共同决定的，是主体和客体发生认知关系的结果。 本文试图从格式塔心理学的完形论的视角，运用其基本原则来分析和阐述人 类认知中的范畴的基本特点，从而解释自然语言中的模糊现象。 尽管格式塔原理不只是一种知觉的学说，但它却导源于对知觉的研究，而且 一些重要的格式塔原理，大多是由知觉研究所提供的。知觉作为人类认知的重要 基础环节必然影响人们对世界的认知，进而影响对客观世界范畴化的过程。模糊 性作为自然语言的一个基本属性是和人类认知范畴紧密联系的，因而本文认为， 格式塔原理及其基本原则在一定程度上能解释自然语言中的模糊现象。本文的研 究目的就是要通过格式塔原理及其基本的认知组织原则探讨人类自然语言模糊 现象，从而揭示语言模糊的一些基本特点和规律。 格式塔心理学强调思维活动的整体结构( 完形结构) ，认为心理现象最基本 的特征是在意识经验中所显现的结构性和整体性，强调整体不是组成部分的简单 相加，心理过程本身具有组织作用，人们可以根据对事物完形结构的认识，构造 不完整或不稳定的结构。在格式塔心理学家看来，知觉到的东西要大于跟睛见到 的东西；任何一种经验的现象，其中的每一成分都牵连到其他成分，每一成分之 所以有其特性，是因为它与其他部分具有关系。由此构成的整体，并不决定于其 个别的元素，而局部过程却取决于整体的内在特性。 由此，本文由现有的有关范畴的研究，比较其不足之处，提出自然语言中的 概念是人们在体验客观世界的过程中在大脑中形成的对客观事物的抽象的概括， 具有完形结构特点，人脑中的概念并不等于其中元素的数学化的简单叠加，而是 各个元素特征通过格式塔组织原则有机组合的一个整体结构。基于这种设想，本 文从儿童范畴化案例入手，阐述了格式塔原则在基本范畴形成中的作用，并提出 对原型的不同理解，认为在基本层次的范畴化初期，原型是指人们最先接触到的 一个或若干范畴成员，是实在的物体。在这些原型的基础上，通过格式塔原则对 它们特性进行整合，在人脑中往往形成一种抽象的图像，我们把它叫做原型图像 ( p r o t o - i m a g e ) ，原型图像就是人们判断元素归属的尺度。 本文根据对基本范畴的观察得出，在判断的过程中，人脑不像人工智能那样 机械地去处理对象，而是在原型图像的基础上依据格式塔组织原则灵活的处理； 原型图像不是一成不变的，具有一定的动态发展的特性，特别是在概念形成的初 期。人们在利用原型图像对陌生的对象进行范畴化后，依据新成员的特征可能对 既有的原型图像进行修饰，这种修饰仍然离不开格式塔组织原则。因此，我们入 脑中的这种图像进一步称作动态原型图像( d y n a m i cp r o t o - i m a g e ) 在探索客观世 界的过程中不断地发展对世界的认识也是人脑区别于人工智能的一个显著特征。 基于以上对范畴的理解，本文得出结论，基本范畴成员隶属度中体现的模糊 是成员与原型图像相似度差距的体现。格式塔原则在范畴化中的体现之一就是人 们可以基于事物与原型图像的相似性而忽略其一定范围内的差异，从而把该事物 划归到该范畴中去。当这种差异足够明显时，人们会使用模糊限制词来对事物进 行修饰从而从心理上缩小相似度上的差异，这样更容易把该事物看作是范畴成 员。关于数量和程度模糊，本文认为人们在理解关于数量和程度用语时常常采用 的是一种图形一背景式的模式，具体的数字并不总是起重要作用。 在以上研究发现的基础上本文最后提出，模糊产生于人类完形认知的复杂性 和语言描述的不足性的矛盾中。 本文将分四个部分迸行论述： 第一部分就论文创作的起源、意义、目的和组织对论文作一个总体介绍。 第二部分对近年来国内外模糊语言学领域的研究成果进行一个简单的回顾。 第三部分将从格式塔原理的重要原则入手阐述范畴完形结构特点，从而介绍 本文对语言模糊的新的理解。 第四部分对全文进行总结，并指出本文的局限性和提出今后进一步研究设 想。 关键词：模糊、格式塔原则、基本范畴、原型、原型图像 a b s t r a c t t h ep
