Unit 6 Im going to study computer science.Section A (1a-1c)一、Teaching objectives 1. Knowledge goals(知识目标):1) Students can master the words and sentences:grow up, computer programmer, cook, doctor, engineer, violinist, driver, pilot, pianist, scientist What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a basketball player. How are you going to do that? Im going to practice basketball every day. 2) Students know about the simple future tense, and they can use the structure correctly“be going to + 动词原形”。2. Ability goals(能力目标): Ss can use the new words and sentences to express their future intentions in their daily life.3. Emotion goals(情感目标): Everyone has a dream about their future jobs, so they often talk about it. After this class, Students should study hard and make their dream come ture. 二、Teaching emphasis(教学重点)1 new words: grow up, computer programmer, cook, doctor, engineer, violinist, driver, pilot, pianist, scientist2 students learn the structure “be going to + 动词原形” to talk about their future intentions.2. Teaching difficulties(教学难点):How to use the structure “be going to + 动词原形” to express their ideas correctly.三、Teaching procedures(教学课程)Step 1 Introduce the story of dream to students, then ask them: whats your dream? And what can you do for your dream?2. 询问学生们想要从事的职业,从而引出句型: What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a basketball player. 3. Show students some pictures and let them guess the peoples job, then teach them to learn the new words, such as computer programmer, cook, engineer, violinist, pianist, pilot, scientist, 4. Tell Ss to rank them 1-12. 1 is most interesting, 12 is least interesting. 5. Interview some students: which job do you think is the most interesting? And which one is the least interesting? Step II Listening 1. Tell Ss to read the words of jobs in the chart. Make sure they know the meaning of the words and sentences. 2. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and fill in the blanks. 3. Play the recording again. Check the answers with the Ss. 4. Play the recording again. Ss listen and match the jobs with activities. 5. Show the answers on the big screen. Step III Pair work 1. Let Ss read the model with a partner. 2. Use the information in the chart of 1b. Ask and answer with a partner. 3. Let some pairs ask and answer about the chart. Step IV Exercise 1. Translate the phrases into English.2. Complete the sentences. Step V Summary 1. Ask ss what we learnt in this lesson, let them make a conclusion.2. Have ss write the key words and sentences in their exercise-books, some ss write on the blackboard.3. Check and access their writing. Step VI Homework1. Remember the new words in this lesson.2. Recite the conversation in 1c after class. 3.
