Tuhao has_in Western countries, too, to describe similar people in their countries. The adoption (采用) of the word by foreign countries is an example of Chinas spreading influence in the world not just economically, but also socially and culturally. People are paying attention to what is happening in China and are picking up some Chinese words in the process, especially those words that express unique (独特的) Chinese ideas that cannot be easily translated (翻译) into English. The OED is also thinking of adding hukou (户口) and dama (大妈) to the already 120 Chinese words in its dictionary. Hukou refers to (指的是) Chinas system of residency permits (户籍系统) and dama refers to middle-aged Chinese women whose gold buying habits influence the global gold markets. The news that the OED was adding these words has met with some criticism (批评). Some people say the words embarrass (使人尴尬) China, but others insist that in a globalized (全球化的) society its natural for words to spread and be adopted elsewhere. In fact, a word like tuhao expresses the humor of China. Its easy to pronounce (发音) and very accurate (精准的) at poking fun at (嘲弄) rich people who have more money than taste.16 . _ may be adopted in the Oxford English Dictionary in 2014 according to the passage.ATuhaoBHukouCDamaDAll above17 . _can be called “tuhao” according to the passage.AAll newly rich peopleBPeople who own their money easilyCPeople who love money very muchDNewly rich people who spend money in an extravagant way18 . Recent development has made possible machines that print, cook, and serve foods on a mass scale. And the industry isnt stopping there. Food production With a 3D printer, a cook can print complicated chocolate sculptures and beautiful pieces for decoration on a wedding cake. Not everybody can do that - it takes years of experience, but a printer makes it easy. A restaurant in Spain uses a Foodini to “re-create forms and pieces” of food that are “exactly the same,”, freeing cooks to complete other tasks. In another restaurant, all of the dishes and desserts it serves are 3D-printed, rather than farm to table. Sustainability(可持续性)The global population is expected to grow to 9.6 billion by 2050, and some analysts estimate that food production will need to be raised by 50 percent to maintain current levels. Sustainability is becoming a necessity. 3D food printing could probably contribute to the solution. Some experts believe printers could use hydro-colloids(水解胶体)from plentiful renewable like algae(藻类)and grass to replace the familiar ingredients. 3D printing can reduce fuel use and emissions. Grocery stores of the future might stock “food” that lasts years on end, freeing up shelf space and reducing transportation and storage requirements. Nutrition Future 3D food printers could make processed food healthier. Hod Lipson, a professor at Columbia University, said, “Food printing could allow consumers to print food with customized nutritional content, like vitamins. So instead of eating a piece of yesterdays bread from the supermarket, youd eat something baked just for you on demand.”ChallengesDespite recent advancements in 3D food printing, the industry has many challenges to overcome. Currently, most ingredients must be changed to a paste before a printer can use them, and the printing process is quite time-consuming, because ingredients interact with each other in very complex ways. On top of that, most of the 3D food printers now are restricted to dry ingredients, because meat and milk products may easily go bad. Some experts are skeptical about 3D food printers, believing they are better suited for fast food restaurants than homes and high-end restaurants.20 . What benefit does 3D printing bring to food production?AIt helps cooks to create new dishes.BIt saves time and effort in cooking.CIt improves the cooking conditions.DIt contributes to restaurant decorations.21 . What can we learn about 3D food printing from Paragraphs 3?AIt solves food shortages easily.BIt quickens the transportation of food.CIt needs no space for the storage of food.DIt uses renewable materials as sources of food.22 . According to Paragraph 4, 3D-printed food _.Ais more available to consumersBcan meet individual nutritional needsCis tastier than food in supermarketsDcan keep all the nutrition in raw materials23 . What is the main factor that prevents 3D food printing from spreading widely?AThe printing process is complicated.B3D food printers are too expensive.CFood materials have to be dry.DSome experts doubt 3D food printing.24 .
