1、SIXMy name, Bobby, is used both for boys and girls. Girls spell it Bobbie.It is characteristic for little boys to be given a name with a y sound a t the end. For example, I often had a Jimmy, Johnny or Billy in my classes. In my second grade, I also had a Bobbie. In order not toc_onfuse_ us w hen sh
2、e called our names, our teacher _ assigned_ us the names Bob bie Girl and Bobby Boy. This caused me a lot of trouble on the playgro und. There, my friends _labeled _ me Bobbie Girl. For my friends, the apparent _Contrast_ between my name and my sex was the source of much laughter. The fact that they
3、 labeled me as a girl was very_embarr assing _ . I had a tendency to _compensate _ for my name by acting more like a boy than I might have otherwise. I threw more rocks and yelle d louder than the sum of all of the other boys added together. The real B obbie Girl, _conversely , acted more like a gir
4、l. When my teacher _rea lized _ she had made a mistake, she stopped calling us Bobbie Girl and Bobby Boy. Unfortunately, my friends never forgot or _ceased _ calli ng me Bobbie Girl. Third grade was an improvement; the original Bob bie Girl was in a different class. Also, I requested the teacher jus

I, undoubtedly, should have made his advice my nu mber one _priority _ right then. Unfortunately, I got caught in a traffic _jam _ that very same day whi
8、le driving home from work. This was the setting for the heart attack my doctor had _warned _ me about. Instea d of looking for a better outlet for my stress, I began to _yell _ at the ca r in front of me. Then the muscle fibers of my heart began beating like a bag of worms instead of pumping blood.
9、Fortunately, it was only a mild h eart attack. Someone came to my aid and then a_ccompanied_ me to the hospital. Educ ation that only teaches skills specific to a job can only _render_ skills f or performing a task. It doesnt teach you how to make important decisio ns. Em
12、ployers tend to demand more from their employees than the abilit y to perform a task. Our world needs workers who pay constant attention to high standards for their _performance_. It is _ evident _ that fa r too many people today are focusing on making money and not on impr oving themselves. What _p
13、uzzles_ me is why people should ignore co ntributions to the good of humanity while making money. It is only _rati onal _ that a person who gives to the world enjoys the benefits.
