摘要 “误读”作为一种理论的提倡，始于哈罗德布鲁姆1 。布鲁姆 在影响的焦虑( 1 9 7 3 ) 一书中将“误读”命名为“克里纳门” ( c l i n a m e n ) ，这个名称来源于物理学家卢克莱修( l u c r e t i u s ) ，指原 子的“偏离”( s w e r v e ) 使得宇宙的变化成为可能。布鲁姆使用了“克 里纳门”一词来描述诗人为了建立自己的文学地位而对其先辈的影响 进行的“偏离 。 “误读 作为一种理论虽是西方学术话语，然而早在1 9 6 4 年， 钱锺书在林纾的翻译一文中对翻译中“讹 、失真、走样之必然 性与意义进行了较为深入的论述，此文可视为国内较早论及翻译与误 读的文章( 参见申迎丽，2 0 0 8 ：5 0 ) 。国内从文化角度讨论误读现象 的书籍中，引用频率最高的当属乐黛云、勒比雄主编的独角兽与 龙，在该书中( 1 9 9 5 ：1 ) ，“误读 被定义为：“所谓误读是指 人们与他种文化接触时，很难摆脱自身的文化传统、思维方式，往往 只能按照自己所熟悉的一切来理解别人。人在理解他种文化时，首先 自然按照自己习惯的思维模式来对之加以选择、切割，然后是解读， 这就产生了难以避免的文化之间的误读。” 2 0 世纪9 0 年代以来，国内学者对翻译误读现象的关注日益增加， 研究也逐渐深入。学界一致认为误读在翻译中的存在有其客观必然 性，其作用应当在文化语境下从正负两方面来进行综合考察。而对于 误读的全面考察则能更鲜明的体现文化之间的差异、交流过程中的阻 i 滞点及由此导致的文化变形。 本文在已有研究的基础上，选取中国古代文化典籍诗经 的英译为考察对象，聚焦阿瑟韦利1 9 3 7 年译本刀z pb o o ko f s o n g s 在翻译过程中对诗经的误读和对中国传统文化的过滤，描 述由此带来的诗经在英语世界的广泛传播和形象重构，以及韦利 的散体译文对英美国家自由体诗歌产生的巨大影响：另外，文章以 t h eb o o ko f s o n g s 为中心，对诗经在西方历史上的接受及其影响、 地位进行了历时性描述，以期对诗经英译，推而及至中国典籍的 对外传播有所贡献。 本文共分为三章： 第一章为文献综述。介绍汉文本诗经及其英文全、选译本， 并综合介绍国内外诗经英译的研究成果。 第二章借助阐释学理论，描写阿瑟韦利英译本砀pb o o ko f s o n g s 中对诗经历史内涵、意象及文体的误读，探索其误读生成 的原因，并分析由此造成的影响。 第三章从周边文本的使用、文本意象的处理两方面来描述韦译本 对诗经在英语世界进行的形象重构。 最后一部分为结语，在对砌pb o o ko f s o n g s 进行考察的基础上指 出：误读的不可避免使翻译成为一门“接近”的艺术，其本质上是一 个无限接近的过程，译文与原文不会也不可能完全对等；无可避免的 误读为译者提供了自我价值实现的机会，使翻译的过程成为对原作与 自我意义的双重构建；作为需要不断丰富与提升自我、确立自我与他 者关系的译者，其任务恰恰在于以“他者”的存在来补充自己的“匮 乏，获得丰富的生命体验并使自我趋于完善。
