学位论义摘要英语写作，作为第二语言学习者的一项基本语占技能而倍受关注。在许多师生看柬，与听、说、读、译等其它几项技能相比，唯有写出一篇意思清楚、文字通顺、语义连贯的文章最为困难。这种能力甚至连一些操本族语者也无法熟练掌握。因此，如何在写作教学中取得良好效果以及如何提高学生的写作能力也就成了英语教师的一项艰巨的任务。多年来，无数国内外的专家学者针对英语写作进行了大量研究，也收获颇丰。但与写作教学相结合并取得良好效果的方法并不多。在实际写作教学中，教师们往往只注重传授如何选词、造句，或让学生模仿一些行文模式，忽略了对学生语篇意识的培养，特别是对能在“文字通顺、语义连贯”方面起到直接作用的衔接问题重视不够。因而造成了学生的作文缺乏篇章性，难以达到教学大纲的要求。对此，笔者深感提高学生的语篇意识，特别是让学生重视通过使用衔接手段来促进语义连贯，增强作文的篇章性，应成为写作教学的重点所在。衔接理论在语言学界一直受到广泛的关注，语篇的衔接成为语篇研究的核心之一。根据韩礼德和哈桑的阐述，衔接对于篇章的连贯，语篇的生成都具有重要的作用。然而，从目前有关的研究文献来看，依掘衔接理论对中国学生的英语作文进行分析的研究还比较少。因此，本文试图以衔接理论为理论基础，采用错误分析的方法，通过对非英语专业大学生的英语作文中衔接手段的使用情况进行实例分析和解释，来探讨衔接理论对提高中国学生作文的篇章性的重要作用，以及对大学英语写作教学的现实意义。因此，笔者对学生的一次命题作文进行了相关的研究。本研究以非英语专业学生的1 4 6 篇命题作文为语料，按照韩礼德和哈桑对衔接手段的分类，对作文中出现的语法衔接，包括照应、替代、省略和连接，以及词汇衔接方面的各种语误进行了分析。在分析中选取了学生作文中的大量原句，这些为本次研究提供了丰富的数掘。分析结果显示：各种衔接手段的语误在学牛的作文中广泛分粕，衔接手段的使用香j 定程度卜与作文成绩密切相关，即：高分作文中衔接手段运用得多，锚误少，nj 低分作文恰好j 此年h 反。对此笔者尝试竹给卜r 解释干评价。学生以：衔山东帅越人学坝i 学化论义接手段卜的人量误用与他们语法、词汇能力有欠缺，受汉语的负迁移的影u 向有关，特别是学生们在写作中语篇意识的缺乏，是造成这些失误的一个重要原凶。对此笔者讨论了把衔接理论与英语写作教学相结合的必要性与可行性，并提出几项建议：教师应掌握衔接理论；把衔接理论引入写作课教学；克服汉语负迁移的影响；设计有效的教学活动等。通过理论介绍和实例分析，笔者得出结论，把衔接理论融入到大学英语写作中去十分必要而且可行。当然，本文所做只是有限的尝试，笔者仅希望通过本文能抛砖引玉，引起更多同行对有关衔接理论在英语写作教学中的应用与作用问题的关注以及更加深入的探索和研究。关键词：衔接理论；衔接手段；英语写作教学j
