硕士学位论文 m a s t e r st h e s i s 内容摘要 文化在二语或外语学习中的重要性己被学者们广泛地认识并接受。其理论 基础建立于h y m e s 的交际能力及语言与文化的关系之上。在前人成就的基础上， 本文罄在从教师的角度和学生心理适应的角度，采用比较法探讨增强非英语专 业学生的文化意识的必要性和可行策略。 由于受结构主义影响，我国的英语教学长期只注重单纯的语言形式，而脱 离了语言的社会文化环境，这种教学方式产生的严重后果是学生的语用失误。 语言表达合乎语法却不得体。因此本文提出增强非英语专业学生的文化意识从 而实现文化教学的最终目的，即提高学生跨文化理解和交际的实际运用语言的 能力。论文首先分析了大学英语课堂教学现状。目前，其课堂教学仍然偏重词 汇，语法知识传授，而对语言赖以存在的“文化”这一语言环境重视不够。学 生的学习方法主要以记忆型为主( m e m o r y b a s e d ) ，课堂上老师的输入与学生的 语言输出不平衡，学生语言实践不够。学生对社会文化知识的了解程度普遍较 低。文化无所不在而且纷繁复杂，它反映在人们生活的各个方面，因而，培养 学生文化意识显得尤为重要。 论文关于增强学生文化意识的理论基础主要来源于语言与文化的不可分 割的内在关系。论文从文化的定义，语言与文化的关系，文化的分类，文化的 特点，以及文化在语言学习中的重要性这五个方面阐述了对文化的理解。语言 与文化不可分割。语言是文化的一部分，受文化影响，在文化环境中形成发展。 语言承载文化，同时又反映文化特征。语言与文化紧密相连。同时文化具有五 大特征：文化是学习得来；文化具有继承性；文化建立于符号上；文化并非静 止不变，处于不断变化当中；文化以本民族为中心。基于以上特点，文化教学 既成为可能，但同时又面临困难。 在论述了对文化的理解之后，结合大学英语课堂教学，论文作者一方面 从教师的角度提出了增强学生的文化意识的策略。在文化教学方面，多年来教 师们面临诸多困难和挑战，如：合适的材料选取，如何在本就有限的课程时间 硕士学位论文 m a s t e r st h e s i s 里增加文化教学的分量，教师自身语言文化方面的专业知识是否足够等等。结 合外语教学实际，文化教学的最终目的是实现跨文化理解和跨文化交际。作为 教师，具体实现这一目标，增强学生文化意识可从两方面采取策略：教材选取 和课堂活动组织。教材的选取上，使用主题为中心的教材可以使文化教学系统 化。同时还要做到保证材料的真实性。具体课堂活动中，可采用对比，提出问 题一解决问题，戏剧表演，使用多媒体演示，角色表演等一种或多种方法来增 强学生文化意识。 另一方面，本文从学生文化适应的角度探讨了增强其文化敏感性的策略。 接触或进入一种新的文化，人们往往会经历最初的兴奋，随后的文化惊诧，到 逐渐适应的过程。外语课堂教学中，学生也存在类似的文化经历。了解学生文 化适应的过程及其所处阶段对实际教学有着积极意义。 关键词：文化意识；文化教学；文化适应 硕士学位论文 m a s t e r st h e s i s a b s t r a c t a p p
