1、Unit 4 At the FarmGood morning, distinguished judges. I am No.1 candidate, applying for English teacher of primary school. My topic today is “At the Farm”. To make my presentation much clearer, I will describe my thoughts in the following 6 aspects: analysis of teaching material, analysis of student

2、s, teaching methods, learning methods, teaching procedures and blackboard design.In the first place, I will analyze teaching material. This lesson comes from Part A of Unit 4, PEP Primary English, Book 4 and it includes two parts: Lets learn and lets chant. In part 1, it mainly deals with the new wo

3、rds and a dialogue about describing the vegetables. And in part 2, it is a chant for the students to practice the new words. This lesson is close to students daily life, so it is helpful for the students to learn this unit. According to the New Curriculum Standard, the teaching objects are divided i

4、nto 3 parts:Firstly, knowledge and skill objects are to enable the Ss to listen, read and write the new words of some vegetables and its plural form: tomatoes, potatoes, green beans and carrots; they can describe the shape and color of the vegetables.Secondly, process and method objects are to devel

5、op Ss ability of speaking and to train the Ss ability of communication in the real situation. Thirdly, emotional and attitude objects are to foster Ss awareness of healthy eating and cherishing food.Based on analysis of teaching material, the key points of this lesson are to help students listen, re

6、ad and write the new words and sentences to describe vegetables. The difficult point is to help the students to pay attention to the plural form of the words and to pronounce them correctly.Referring to the teaching objects and the students physical and psychological characteristics, I will adopt th

7、e Audio-Visual method to establish a real scene and the interaction between the teacher and the students. Task-based language teaching method offers the students an opportunity to complete the tasks in which students use language to achieve a specific outcome. At the same time, make use of the moder

8、n electricity teaching equipments and all kinds of teaching means, it can mobilize the students enthusiasm and creativity in learning English. .In order to realize the teaching process systematically, properly and efficiently, under the principle of “regard students as the corpus, the teacher inspir

9、es for predominance”, I divide the teaching process into six steps. Step 1.Lead-inAt the beginning of the class, I will sing a song “Apple round” with all students. After that, I will tell them that apples grow at the farm, do you know something else at the farm. Design purpose: Sing a song together

10、 could capture the students attention and stimulate their interests. Step 2. PresentationI will prepare a bag with all kinds of vegetables; students can touch the vegetables without seeing and guess what it is. By picking out one vegetable, such as green beans, I will describe it by using couples of

11、 sentences “It is green.”, “It is long.” After that, I will pick out more green beans and teach the plural form “green beans”. In the same way, I will lead the students to learn the other new words and its plural form “tomatoes, green beans, potatoes, carrots”. In the end, I will discuss with the st

12、udents about the changing rules of the plural form. Design purpose: It is a direct way for the teacher to teach the new words as the students can touch and speak out the shape and color of different vegetables; in addition, it could arouse the curiosity of the students. Step 3. PracticeActivity 1: F

13、inger game. Students should say the singular and plural form according to my finger. Activity 2: Bingo. Students work in pairs to play word guess, the group which use the shortest time is the winner. Design purpose: Practice the new words and its plural form through playing games to arouse their int

14、erests of studying. Step 4. Consolidation Task: Write an advertisement. Students work in groups to write an advertisement to introduce Macdonalds farm to make the farm well-known by people and invite more people to visit his farm. Finally, encourage students to show their advertisement to the whole

15、class.Design purpose: Consolidate the knowledge we have learned in this class, and improve their ability of learning by doing. Step 5. SummarySs make a summary on what they have learned this class, and I will make supplement that we have a happy time at Old Macdonalds farm and we can recognize diffe

16、rent kinds of vegetables, and we also learned how to read and describe these vegetables in English. Whats more, lead the students to aware that we should eat all kinds of vegetable to be healthy. Design purpose: Check the Ss weak points and what they have learned this class. Teacher make supplements based on the students summary, and develop the students habit of healthy diet. Step 6. HomeworkDesign your own farm, and introduce your farm to your parents and friends. Design purpose: Cultivate stud
