Atrain pulled the cars along the fast undergroundtrack which was 6 kilometers (3.7) long. About 30,000 people got on the subway t
13、heday. Riders were treated to comfortable seats (standing up while the train was moving was notallowed), and pleasant decorations(温馨的装潢)inside each of the cars. However, the smokefrom the engine soon filled the air in the tunnels wish(煤烟) and soot(油烟), as well aschemical gases. Fans(鼓风机 air-blowers)
