My Personal Thoughts on Learning and Teaching As everyone has often remarked, one is never too old to learn. Different scholars and educators gave diverse definitions and significance to learning. As far as Im concerned, learning is a process in which learners can gain knowledge and experience from others experience with less time than previous people. However, this process can be a useful one as well as a useless one, as some of others experience can mislead your own thoughts and understanding of a new object. If you see obstacles as opportunities rather than difficulties then you can turn them to your advantage. That so-called “helpless” learning is also helpful in some ways. When I looked through a book named Approaches to Learning, I realized there is no absolute correct knowledge for learners to learn. Learning is not just a process of acquiring pure knowledge; it is a way for learners to gain an insight into previous theories; it is a way for learners to compare their own experience and others; it is a way for them to test the validity of previous theories with their own practice; it is a good way for learners to train their thoughts and the thinking process; and it is also a quick way for educators to choose a proper teaching method with the help of others ideas and protect from some new and popular ideas. Whats more, learning is a way for youngsters to get access to the society and their future development. As learning is an important part in our life, learners need to show a critical view on different previous theories. They may encounter various opinions on the same topic; therefore, they could compare those researchers and try to pick out their differences and similarities and find out the connections. In addition, learners could connect their own experience or practice with those theories. As for educators, somewhat the learners, they may found that those theories sometimes differ from their actual teaching and students learning. When mentioned educators, I would like to be a teacher who wont be the excuse for students dislike of learning English in the future. Teachers not only need to teach basic knowledge, they also need to teach students how to learn and motivate students interest in learning English. Teachers also need to cultivate students learning habits and stimulate their learning motivation. Teachers and teaching are regarded as parts of education. Education lasts forever, but education is also a dynamic movement. At different times, different scholars proposed various teaching methods and trends to help students learn. Education is not for better grades and entering a higher school, it is the pursuit of ones growth. It is a way of getting happiness from learning. Education is not mechanical training; it is the highest spiritual pursuit in everyones life just like eating and sleeping. Education is not a discipline and bound, it is a wake-up call for students enthusiasm, love and other excellent personalities. Whats more, as education is geared to the needs of public learners, education is a multi-perspective, multi-leveled dynamic process involving many factors. To have a better education for students, teachers need to construct their own teaching philology. The philosophy of education should be respectively based on their teaching purposes, processes, nature and ideals of education; therefore, teachers couldnt blindly copy others educational philology, which consists of three main parts. Idealism holds that ideas represent what we have in mind and they preferred theories rather than experience. Empiricism and romanticism emphasize the importance of experience. Development philosophies stress the purpose of human activity. People learn for survival. In short, it can enrich personal experience, provide pleasure in the exploration of educational ideas and facilitate teachers open- mindedness. Based on those diverse advocacy and teachers own thoughts, its necessary for teachers to develop their own philology of teaching. Learning is the process by which ones behavior, knowledge, skills, ability, etc., through practice, instruction and experience. Teachers and educators are responsible for instruction. They may provide some guidance for learners and they present some methods for learners to acquire new knowledge. In terms of teachers methods, students may explore their own learning methods through deductive learning as well as inductive learning. In short, learning is an ess
