Billys grandfather was a businessman,and in 1858 he moved to Flint.There, he had ever been the citys mayor, and had a huge influence on the citys politics and economy.,In 1872, Billy moved to Flint with his mother. When he was a child,he was clever and lovely. When he was 17，he chose to leave school for working.Since then，he started his brilliant and legend life. He entered the carriage industry in 1886,and during the following years he developed the company to the largest carriage company in the US.,In 1904, Billy entered the Buick board of directors, and began to enter the automotive industry .At that monent, Buick had just started its business. Two years later,Buick became a successful company under his leadership. In 1908, Billy established the General Motors Corporation(GM), which is the world largest car company now. After the establishment of GM, Billy purchased some famous car brands, such as Cadillac and Pontiac.,In 1910, Billy first lost GM ,and the bankers took charge of the company instead of him. After the loss of GM, he created another car company, which is the Chevrolet Motor Company. With the help of Chevrolets success,he took in charge of GM again.And, he also added Chevrolet in his own GM empire.,However,in 1921 Billy second lost his GM because of the financial problem. And this time,he will lost his “child“ for ever. Failure never cant beat Billy,after then he use his own name created “Durant Motor Company“.However, he fail this time. After this failure, he left the car industry, and operated a bowling alley and restaurant.
