摘要 摘要 现代英国英语单词，可以从语言学的不同分支或流派乃至不同学科进行历时 地和或共时地分析和研究。从音系角度分析和研究现代英国英语单词将主要集 中在它的单词发音、音节组构和词重音等3 个方面。前人已经对其进行了广泛而 深入地研究，取得了丰硕的研究成果，积累了丰富的研究经验。受前人做研究时 的社会历史条件所限，他们的研究仍有需要完善和补充的地方。近年来，音系研 究逐渐呈现出交叉性和综合性的趋势。2 0 世纪9 0 年代初，音系学和认知科学的 结合产生了优选论( o p t i m a l i t yt h e o r y , 简称o t ) ，该理论自诞生后很快风靡语 言学界。它是生成语法的最新发展，是对经典生成音系学理论的改进、提高和发 展。优选论把语言界定为彼此相互冲突的普遍性力量形成的一个系统( 1 a n g u a g ei s as y s t e mo fc o n f l i c t i n gf o r c e s ) 。优选论的核心是制约条件( c o n s t r a i n t ) 和制约条 件等级排列( c o n s t r a i n th i e r a r c h y , 翼) 。它不仅用于分析音系，而且也应用于句法、 词法、语义、历史语言学、母语习得、儿童语言习得、外语学习、电脑模拟人脑 信息处理和社会语言学等语言研究的其他方面。优选论对各种语言现象的解释力 也呈现出越来越强的生命力，已成为一种普遍的语言学理论。可是，优选论在分 析和研究语言现象时，遇到了一些问题。这样便产生了帮助提高和完善优选论解 释力的标记性层级理论 ( c o m p a r a t i v em a r k e d n e s st h e o r y ) 、“和应理论” ( c o r r e s p o n d e n c et h e o r y ) 、“概率优选论 ( p r o b a b i l i t yo p t i m a l i t yt h e o r y ) 和“候 选项链理论 ( o tw i t hc a n d i d a t ec h a i n s ) 等等。尽管如此，优选论在分析、研 究和解释现代英国英语单词读音、词重音乃至音节组构时，仍碰到了一些比较棘 手的问题。在优选论的理论框架下，这些问题尚未在国内外学术界得到满意地解 决。为了更好地解决优选论所碰到的问题，本研究建构了一个现代英国英语音系 的多维模式( am u l t i d i m e n s i o n a lm o d e lo fm o d e mb r i t i s he n g l i s hp h o n o l o g y , 简 称m dm o d e lo fm o d e mb r ep h o n o l o g y ) 用于分析、研究和解释现代英国英语的 单词发音、音节组构和词重音。 本研究主要解决3 个问题：l ，生成现代英国英语的单词发音、音节组构和 词重音的制约条件有哪些，它们是怎样排列的；2 ，优选论的理论框架是否可以 解决上述问题；3 ，现代英国英语音系的多维模式是否可以辅助优选论解决上述 问题。 本研究由5 个章节组成。第1 章，介绍了研究对象、资料收集、论文结构以 及研究意义。本文的研究对象是首字母是a - a ”，并以元音结尾的现代英国英语 单词。这些单词来源于牛津袖珍英汉双解词典( 新版) ( p o c k e to x f o r d e n g l i s h c h i n e s ed i c t i o n a r y ) ( n e we d i t i o n ) 。论文由5 个章节构成。本研究具有 i i 摘要 相当重要的理论意义和实际意义。 第2 章是文献综述与研究方法。通过对中国知网( h t t p ：w w w c n k i n e t ) 、谷 歌网( h t t p ：w w w g o o g l e c n ) 、s c i e n c e d i r e c t 网( h t t p ：w w w s c i e n c e d i r e c t c o m ) 以 及中外语言研究史的调研，发现已经有人从语言学的不同分支或流派( 其中也包 括优选论) 乃至不同学科分析和研究了现代英国英语的单词发音、音节组构或词 重音。然而，运用优选论从音系角度综合性地、全面地分析和研究现代英国英语 单词，在国内外都是比较少见的。同时，在现代英国英语单词发音的问题上，优 选论也有些“束手无策”。因此，在“继承、借鉴、怀疑、假设、探索，求证 的指引下，通过借鉴优选论的理论框架，同时结合历史语言学和词源学等相关学 科，本研究建构了一个现代英国英语音系的多维模式用于分析、研究和解释现代 英国英语的单词发音、音节组构和词重音，并以此模式作为本文的研究方法。 第3 章，运用优选论从音系角度分析和研究现代英国英语单词。首先，从尾 元音、音节、尾元音与前一个音素的关系和词源等4 个方面描写了这些单词。其 次，用优选论分析了这些单词的音节组构和词重音，找到了它们的制约条件及其 等级排列。同时，发现它们的音节组构受语音配列、词法、词源以及词重音等4 个条件的影响和制约。同时，音节组构中的词源问题以及部分单词的词重音在优 选论的理论框架中不能得到满意地解决。本研究认为优选论必须借助现代英国英 语音系的多维模式解释现代英国英语的单词发音。 第4 章，以现代英国英语单词a c a c i a 为例，使用现代英国英语音系的多维 模式分析、研究和解释了它的单词发音，同时兼顾音节组构和词重音。最后，讲 解了该模式的操作步骤。 第5 章是结论和展望。现代英国英语音系的多维模式以音系为研究对象的， 体现了交叉性、综合性和整体性，拓展、延伸和增强了优选论在音系方面的解释 力，为完善优选论作出了一定的贡献。现代英国英语音系的研究不仅是现代英国 英语研究的一个组成部分，也是印欧语系音系研究乃至人类语言的音系研究的重 要组成部分，而且也将对汉语音系的研究提供借鉴，因而具有相当重要的理论意 义和实际意义。最后，在现代英国英语音系的多维模式的基础上，提出了适用于 其他语言音系的多维音系模式( am u l t i d i m e n s i o n a lm o d e lo fp h o n o l o g y , 简称 m dm o d e
